Two-dimensional simulation of Poiseuille-Rayleigh-Bénard flows in binary fluids with Soret effect

Poiseuille-Rayleigh-Bénard flows in binary fluids with Soret effect are directly simulated by a mixed finite element method. A temperature perturbation is used as an initial disturbed source for the basic parallel flows. The whole spatio-temporal evolution of the binary fluid flows is exhibited: initially only the disturbed mode with the wavenumber k=π is amplified while others are damped, and continuously the amplified mode grows further and the nonlinear effect becomes important; after a nonlinear evolution transition the flow system evolves finally into a periodic right traveling wave.

调和测度

“调和”这个概念在数学中有多种意义，本书所讲的调和测度来源于解偏微分方程有关Laplace方程的Dirichlet问题。Dirichlet问题的解称为调和函数，如果它在边界上等于给定的函数。最简单的情形是平面区域，可以定义区域边界的子集在某点的调和测度来解决系列单复变函数和位势理论的问题。这样，调和测度成为重要的理论工具。近20多年，在这方面有突破性进展，本书就是介绍这些进展的专著。     

A Large Deviation Principle for the Risk Process with Varying Premium

Let u ∈ R ,for any ω 〉 0, the processes X^ε = {X^ε（t）; 0 ≤ t≤ 1} are governed by the following random evolution equations dX^ε（t）= b（X^ε（t）,v（t））dt-εdSt/ε, where S={St; 0≤t≤1} is a compound Poisson process, the process v={v（t）; 0≤t≤1} is independent of S and takes values in R^m. We derive the large deviation principle for{（X^ε,v（.））; ε〉0} when ε↓0 by approximation method and contraction principle, which will be meaningful for us to find out the path property for the risk process of this type.     

Automatic Question Answering from Web Documents

A passage retrieval strategy for web-based question answering （QA） systems is proposed in our QA system. It firstly analyzes the question based on semantic patterns to obtain its syntactic and semantic information and then form initial queries. The queries are used to retrieve documents from the World Wide Web （WWW） using the Google search engine. The queries are then rewritten to form queries for passage retrieval in order to improve the precision. The relations between keywords in the question are employed in our query rewrite method. The experimental result on the question set of the TREC-2003 passage task shows that our system performs well for factoid questions.     

Analysis of Conditional Value-at-Risk for Newsvendor with Holding and Backorder Cost under Market Search

We consider a distribution system with one supplier and two retailers. For the two retailers, they face different demand and are both risk averse. We study a single period model which the supplier has ample goods and the retailers order goods separately. Market search is measured as the fraction of customers who unsatisfied with their ＂local＂ retailer due to stock-out, and search for the goods at the other retailer before leaving the system. We investigate how the retailers game for order quantity in a Conditional Value-at-Risk framework and study how risk averse degree, market search level, holding cost and backorder cost influence the optimal order strategies. Furthermore, we use uniform distribution to illustrate these results and obtain Nash equilibrium of order strategies.     

Mechanism of the interaction between Au nanoparticles and polymerase in nanoparticle PCR

Nanoparticle PCR is a novel method to optimize DNA amplification. It performs well in improving specificity, enhancing sensitivity and speed. Several mechanisms were proposed in previous studies: one was based on the interaction between gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and DNA while the other was attributed to the heat transfer property of AuNPs. In this paper, we propose that the interaction between AuNPs and DNA polymerase can significantly influence PCR. First, the addition of DNA polymerase can eliminate the inhibitory effects of excess AuNPs. Second, the addition of AuNPs will increase yield of the desired PCR product and make the optimum concentration of DNA polymerase move to higher value. Third, while excess polymerase might inhibit amplification efficiency, AuNPs can reverse this process and the yield of PCR amplification. Based on these results we propose a possible mechanism that AuNPs might modulate the activity of polymerase and improve PCR amplification.

荷叶黄酮类物质的提取及其抗氧化活性的研究

研究了荷叶中黄酮类物质的提取及其对猪油的抗氧化作用.首先,采用单因素实验法确定了从荷叶中提取黄酮类化合物的最佳五因素五水平的选择实验.得出最佳提取条件:以50%的乙醇作提取剂,按1∶25的固液比,温度为40℃,pH值为5.15,提取时间为90 min。其次,研究了提取物对猪油的抗氧化作用.将提取液以不同比例添加到猪油中,恒温并定期用Na2S2O3-I2滴定法测油样的过氧化值,结果表明:荷叶中黄酮类化合物对猪油有明显的抗氧化作用,且黄酮类化合物的添加量在实验剂量范围内与其抗氧化性呈正相关;当添加量为0.5%时,荷叶中黄酮类化合物的抗氧化性能可与BHT相媲美;同时还研究了荷叶提取物与Vc的协同抗氧化作用,结果表明荷叶黄酮类化合物与Vc有较好的增效协同效应。
