Daily rhythm of S32 incorporation into epiphyseal cartilage in mice

Résumé Nous avons administré du soufre radioactif par voie i.p. à des souris, chaque groupe recevant l'injection à un moment différent de la journée (intervalle de 3 h entre les injections à 2 groupes successifs). L'analyse microdensitométrique d'autoradiographies du traceur dans les cartilages de conjugaison (fémurs, tibias) 24 h après l'injection a démontré que la rétention était la plus grande chez les souris qui avaient reçu l'injection entre 15 et 18 h.

Protection by antioxidants against ozone toxicity in mice

Zusammenfassung 16 Antioxidantien wurden auf ihre Schutzwirkung gegen Ozontoxizität in Mäusen geprüft. AHQ, Primaquin und EMQ waren hochwirksam, BHA, NDGA und Ascarbinsäure mässig wirksam, und die übrigen zeigten keinen nennenswerten Effekt.

Human sweat components — Attractancy and repellency to mosquitoes

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass menschliche Schweissabsonderungen verschiedener Versuchspersonen auf weibliche Moskitos (Aedes aegypti) verschieden attraktiv sind. Mit Diethyläther (pH 1) lassen sich im Schweiss sowohl «anlockende» wie auch «abschreckende» Bestandteile extrahieren. Für den «repellent effect» sind teilweise gleiche Mischungen von Milchsäure und Milchsäureanhydrid verantwortlich. Zwei weitere, noch nicht identifizierte Substanzen zeigten im Zwei-Kammer-Olfaktometer identische «repellent» Wirkungen.

The alkaloids ofAspidosperma neblinae. An application of a directly coupled gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer

Zusammenfassung Die Analyse der Basenfraktion vonAspidosperma neblinae mit Hilfe eines mit einem Massenspektrometer gekuppelten Gas-Chromatographen führte zur Identifizierung der folgenden Alkaloide: Aspidospermidin, 1, 2-Dehydroaspidospermidin, Deacetylpyrifolidin, 1, 2-Dehydrodeacetylpyrifolidin, Demethoxyaspidospermin, Aspidospermin, Demethylaspidospermin, Pyrifolidin, Aspidocarpin, Eburnamonin, und Neblinin.     

Enzymatic test for the detection of a riboflavin deficiency. NADPH-dependent glutathione reductase of red blood cells and its activation by FAD in vitro

Zusammenfassung Die NADPH-spezifische Glutathion-reduktaseaktivität hämolysierter Erythrozyten erscheint brauchbar als Parameter zur Erfassung von Riboflavin-mangelzuständen. Die Enzymaktivität wird in vitro durch einen Zusatz von FAD bei Riboflavinmangelratten wesentlich stärker erhöht als bei Kontrollratten. Untersuchungen mit menschlichen Erythrozyten deuten darauf hin, dass auch hier die Aktivierbarkeit des Enzyms durch FAD vom Riboflavinstatus abhängt.
