Change in the body temperature of healthy term infant over the first 72 hours of life

OBJECTIVE: To determine the range of body temperature in a group of healthy Chinese term neonates over the first 72 hours of life and to assess the influence of body weight, gestational age and route of delivery.METHOD: All 200 consecutive cases of neonates delivered at our hospital from March to August 2001 were included in this retrospective study. Temperatures were measured immediately after delivery, after 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 8 hours and 15 hours and on the 2nd and 3rd day. Axillary temperatures ranging from 36.5 degrees C to 37 degrees C were regarded as normal. No cases of maternal fever or systemic infection of the newborns were discovered. All infants were discharged in good general condition. RESULTS: The mean rectal temperature at birth was 37.19 degrees C. The lowest average temperature was reached at 1 hour after delivery (36.54 degrees C) with a significant difference between natural delivery (36.48 degrees C) and section (36.59 degrees C) (P<0.05). Temperature subsequently rose to 36.70 degrees C at 8 hours and 36.78 degrees C at 15 hours (P<0.05). Hypothermia was seen in 51.8% and hypothermia in 42.5% of the patients. On the 3rd day after delivery, 96% of all temperatures were in the normal range. A significant relation was found between hypothermia and both low birth weight (P<0.001) and low gestational age (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The reference range presently used did not include all physiological temperatures in the first 72 hours of life. Considering other factors, such as birth weight, route of delivery, gestational age and body temperature on the 2nd and 3rd day of life, may help to correctly assess the significance of temperatures beyond the reference range.     

组织的系统结构定义探讨

为了解释现实中存在的,有着相同的组织部门结构却有着不同的功能,似乎与“系统的结构决定其功能”的系统原理相矛盾的现象,在肯定结构决定功能的系统原理、在系统结构的一般定义以及切克兰德的系统分类的基础上,借鉴有关悖论的智能,提出了“系统的类型不同,共结构的具体定义也应不同”的观点,由此得出了直接移植“被设计系统”的结构定义到组织导致了上述矛盾的结论,并进一步给出了作为“人类活动系统”的组织的结构定义,还用案例对这个定义的意义做了说明。     

"奖优罚劣"的动态多指标灰色关联度模型研究

针对动态多指标系统决策特点 ,利用灰色关联分析方法提出了一种新的“奖优罚劣”的动态多指标决策模型。该模型不仅对指标进行初始化处理时使用了“奖优罚劣”原则 ,而且通过构造相关矩阵 ,利用特征根、特征向量的性质 ,构造最优指标体系 ,并由此确定最优指标体系中各指标的权重。通过计算决策对象与理想矩阵、负理想矩阵的关联度 ,进而得到决策对象的排序结果。模型中充分考虑了指标的成长特性 ,将其整个系统的成长特性进行比较 ,作为关联度的一部分。在经济决策的实际问题中应用该模型 ,取得较好的效果     

TRPV3 is a calcium-permeable temperature-sensitive cation channel

Transient receptor potential (TRP) proteins are cation-selective channels that function in processes as diverse as sensation and vasoregulation. Mammalian TRP channels that are gated by heat and capsaicin (>43 degrees C; TRPV1 (ref. 1)), noxious heat (>52 degrees C; TRPV2 (ref. 2)), and cooling (< 22 degrees C; TRPM8 (refs 3, 4)) have been cloned; however, little is known about the molecular determinants of temperature sensing in the range between approximately 22 degrees C and 40 degrees C. Here we have identified a member of the vanilloid channel family, human TRPV3 (hTRPV3) that is expressed in skin, tongue, dorsal root ganglion, trigeminal ganglion, spinal cord and brain. Increasing temperature from 22 degrees C to 40 degrees C in mammalian cells transfected with hTRPV3 elevated intracellular calcium by activating a nonselective cationic conductance. As in published recordings from sensory neurons, the current was steeply dependent on temperature, sensitized with repeated heating, and displayed a marked hysteresis on heating and cooling. On the basis of these properties, we propose that hTRPV3 is thermosensitive in the physiological range of temperatures between TRPM8 and TRPV1.

在简述了西北干旱半干旱区水资源特点与问题的基础上,分析了水资源浪费的主要原因,提出了水资源合理利用的“软工程”战略及其具体措施,强调从改善水资源环境,建立节水型社会及治理水土流失等方面来利用与配置干旱半干旱区的水资源。     

F-box proteins in flowering plants

In eukaryotes, the ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation pathway has been shown to control several key biological processes such as cell division, development, metabolism and immune response. F-box proteins, as a part of SCF (Skp1-Cullin (or Cdc53)-F-box) complex, functioned by interacting with substrate proteins, leading to their subsequent degradation by the 26S proteasome. To date, several F-box proteins identified in Arabidopsis and Antirrhinum have been shown to play important roles in auxin signal transduction, floral organ formation, flowering and leaf senescence. Arabidopsis genome sequence analysis revealed that it encodes over 1000 predicted F-box proteins accounting for about 5% of total predicted proteins. These results indicate that the ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation involving the F-box proteins is an important mechanism controlling plant gene expression. Here, we review the known F-box proteins and their functionsin flowering plants.
