Study of Chunks Input Approach

This paper is to describe and investigate Chunks (Lexical Phrases) Input Approach in vocabulary learning strategies by means of achievement tests, questionnaire surveys and interviews. The study is to reveal how different learners combine different vocabulary learning strategies in their learning process. With the data collected, the author of this paper discusses and summarizes learners' individual differences in selecting vocabulary learning strategies with the hope of giving new insights into English teaching and learning.

A Listening Test of Controlled-Productive Ability

The purpose of the study is to estimate a new testing method of evaluating the student's ability of Listening Comprehension. The problem to be addressed is whether there is evidence to show that the method can discriminate between the testees, separating the above-average students from the average and the below-average students. Thus, the controlled-productive listening test will be found to be reliable, valid (in that the test distinguished between different proficiency students) and practical.

Evaluation of College English Test

There has been much heated discussion on College English Test for non-English majors Band 4 and Band 6 because it has exerted great influence on English teaching in Chinese universities. This essay is intended to explore the reliability, validity, practicality and washback of this large-scale test by focusing on CET Band 4. The author of this report discusses the merits as well as some existing problems of this test and offers some suggestions at the end of the essay.

本文从已知的梅森素数出发,探讨梅森素数在自然数中的分布规律;提出了在2~(2~n)与2~(2~(n 1))之间梅森素数的个数为2~(n 1)-1的猜想,并据此做出了小于2~(2~(n 1))的梅森素数的个数为2~(n 2)-n-2的推论。
