Zusammenfassung In Yoshida-Sarkomzellen ist die alkalische Phosphatase vorwiegend in der partikelfreien Fraktion in gelöster Form lokalisiert. Gelfiltration fÜhrt zu einer Auftrennung des Enzyms im partikelfreien Überstand von 6 Fraktionen, des Enzyms in den Zellkernen bei 2 Fraktionen.

Zusammenfassung Beil-DOPA behandelten Parkinsonpatienten wird gefunden, dass Dopamin und Homovanillinsäure besonders im Striatum akkumuliert wurden. Damit wird die Möglichkeit, dass Dopamin an der Antiparkinson-Wirkung desl-DOPA entscheidend beteiligt ist, in direkter Weise gestützt.

Zur Wirkung von Oxytocin auf einen autorhythmischen glatten Gefässmuskel

Summary The influence of oxytocine on the spontaneously contractile portal vein of the rat has been investigated. This octapeptide decreases the active tension and abolished it completely at a concentration of 5×10^–7g/ml. The effect is not caused by an adrenergic mechanism but by a direct action on the smooth muscle cell.     

Ultrastructural localization of newcastle disease virus surface antigen in infected Hela cells as revealed by an enzyme-labelled antibody method

Zusammenfassung Nach indirekter peroxidasekonjugierter Antikörpermethode wurden elektronenmikroskopisch mit Newcastle-Disease-Virus infizierte HeLa-Zellen geprüft, und in den frühen Infektionsstadien an den Ribosomen des endoplasmatischen Retikulums solcher Zellen und in den späten Infektionsstadien an den «Spikes» des spriessenden Viruskörperchens das Antigen der Virusoberflächen gezeigt.

Summary Using CO₂ in manometric control of continuous cultures (Sacch. cer.), the cultures were maintained constant ir intensity of metabolism in respect to CO₂-production. The small fermentors (50 ml) are useful for investigations in metabolism under various conditions at a steady state.     

Elektronenmikroskopische Beobachtungen bei experimenteller Poliomyelitis

Summary The lumbar motor columns of a cynomolgus monkey which had become tetraplegic after infection with a highly virulent strain of type 3 poliovirus were examined by electron microscopy. Within the cytoplasm of many endothelial cells of intraspinal blood vessels, as well as within the perikarya of numerous mononuclear inflammatory cells, there occurred regular arrays of dense particles which, on the basis of morphological evidence, could be identified as poliovirus crystals. The possible significance of virual replication by endothelial and mononuclear cells for poliovirus spread within the central nervous system is briefly discussed.     

Pancreozymin/cholecystokinin a physiological mediator of gastric secretory inhibition of duodenal origin

Résumé La Pancréozymine-cholécystokinine (PZ) augmente la sécrétion de l'acide gastrique stimulée par la méthacholine, mais diminue la réponse acide à la gastrine pentapeptide. L'acidification de l'anse Thiry-Vella du duodénum fait augmenter pareillement la sécrétion acide de la poche d'Heidenhain stimulée par la méthacholine et la diminue quand le stimulant est de la gastrine pentopeptide. Il est bien connu que l'acidification du duodénum libère le PZ de la muqueuse duodénale. Nos résultats suggèrent que le PZ est l'agent médiateur d'abaissement de l'acidité gastrique après acidification du duodénum.

Analytisch-chemische Bestimmung nichtradioaktiver Stoffe mit einem Flüssig-Szintillationsspektrometer durch Radiolumineszenz und Absorptionsphotometrie im Čerenkov-Licht

Summary Three techniques are described which allow a quantitative chemical determination of non-radioactive substances by the means of a liquid scintillation counter. The first method is based on the chemical quenching of a radioluminescent solution through the substance that is to be determined. The second method may be described as absorption photometry in erenkov-light and the third one as absorption photometry in radiofluorescence light.
