Toxicokinetic study of vanadium after intramuscular and intratracheal administration to rats]

The toxicokinetic study, made in the rat with 48V under VOCl2, shows that vanadium does not accumulate in the system. 66% of the radioactivity is found in urines 24 hrs. after the inoculation by intramuscular method. After intratracheal deposit, a part of the vanadium is eliminated very rapidly. The other which is lower is fixed on the pulmonary tissues.     

Suppressive effects of graft versus host reaction on humoral immunity: consequences of homograft of chicken spleen on differentiation of the bursa of Fabricius

By engrafting the chorio-allanto?s of Chick embryos with spleen fragments from homologous adult donors, one elicits a graft-versus-host disease. When the graft is performed before the bursa of Fabricius has reached the lymphoid differentiation state, the final follicular organization is greatly reduced. It seems that this suppression effect cannot be related to a diminution of the stem cell compartment available in the anlage but is a result of a direct impact on the mesenchyme and/or the epithelium of the bursa.     

A comparative study of the effects of muscimol and diazepam on the recall of noxious events

Summary Muscimol induced in rats a recall deficit which possibly results from a dissociation of learning. In one out of the 2 experimental conditions studied, a cross dissociation of learning was found between diazepam and muscimol.This work was supported by a grant of INSERM (ATP 39-76-71).     

Changes in the blood cortisol levels during the first week of life in calves (Bos taurus) and lambs (Ovis aries)]

At birth, the plasmatic level of cortisol is very variable and very high in the new-born Calf or the newborn Lamb. This level diminishes within one day and then varies between 10 and 30 ng/ml during the six following days. In the Calf, the secretion of cortisol can be directly stimulated by ACTH or inhibited at the level of the hypothalamic and hypophyseal system with dexamethasone on the day following birth.
