Neobonellin,a new biologically active pigment fromBonellia viridis

Summary A difference of possible physiological significance is reported in the chemical nature of the green integumentary pigment of the echiuroidBonellia viridis, the proboscis of which contains the known bonellin (1, R=H) as the major constituent, while the body skin is mainly pigmented by an isoleucine conjugate, neobonellin, formulated tentatively as2 (R=H) by spectral and chemical data.A preliminary account of this work was presented at the IX Congress of Italian Society of Marine Biology, Ischia (Italy), May 19–22, 1977.This investigation was supported in part by a grant from Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.     

管理图第一类误判概率α的计算及其可靠性讨论

X管理图是工厂质量控制的王要手段之一。现已有国家标准。但由于它涉及大量复杂的概率计算,它的数学原理还极少被详尽地讨论过。本文把它的所有判断规则看作一个整体,并用严格的数学推导计算了在每一点上点子排列有缺陷的概率。由于运用了递推技巧,部分计算得到了简化,从而把結果推进到头十七点。藉助于数理统计中两类误判的概念,我们得到了关于第一类误判概率的可靠性表。它表明,在头十点上发生误判的概率约为0.10,头十七点上发生误判的概率约为0.20。这些结果对管理图的理论研究和实际应用都有重要的参考价值。关于第二类误判概率及其计算我们将另文讨论。     

Cell-mediated immunity in the liver of mice vaccinated against malaria.

Mice can be protected against several species of lethal malaria infection by vaccination, and their recovery correlates well with increased anti-malarial antibody levels, particularly IgG (ref.2). However, there is also a good correlation between protection by vaccines and priming for delayed-type hypersensitivity in the skin, although there is no obvious explanation for this effect. We now report an apparent relationship between protection and a cell-mediated immune response involving the migration of various types of cell capable of killing malaria parasites in vitro to the liver. We suggest that the effect of vaccination is to bring together parasites, specific antibody and nonspecific cytotoxic cells, and that the liver may be a major site for their interaction.     

Subcellular localization of noradrenaline and ATP in C1300 mouse neuroblastoma

Summary A density and velocity gradient centrifugation study of C₁₃₀₀ mouse neuroblastoma showed that ATP is nearly absent from noradrenaline-containing granules and is mainly localized in mitochondria, suggesting that in this tissue ATP is not involved in the storage of noradrenaline.This work was supported by a grant from the ASLK Cancer Fund (Belgium).     

Variations des taux d'ecdystéroïdes au cours du développement deBombyx mori; rapport entre ces variations et les phases de croissance et de morphogenèse

Summary During the development ofBombyx mori (monovoltin race) ecdysteroid levels were determined in oocytes, eggs, and haemolymph of larvae, and in the haemolymph of pupae. In haemolymph, the only RIA reactive materials are ecdysone and ecdysterone. In oocytes and eggs, other ecdysteroids are also detected. During larval instars, the ecdysteroid levels are low whereas they are very high during morphogenetic periods. During embryonic diapause, the ecdysone titer decreases during the cessation of morphogenesis.
