Ecological long-term effects of cultigens becoming feral and of naturalization of non-native species

Transgenic cultigens may become feral as we know of some non-transgenic cultigens. The article explains two basic ways how cultigens become feral: through hybridization with a closely related wild plant and through revert to the wild-type. A long list of examples of cultigens becoming feral in Central Europe is presented. The process of becoming feral is compared to the naturalization of non-native species (Exotic Species Model). Ecological long-term effects of both cultigens becoming feral and non-native species being naturalized are discussed with special regard to the predictability of such events. The ecological aspects discussed in the article are as significant for transgenic cultigens as for non-transgenic cultigens.     

The effect ofβ-adrenergic stimulation and blockade on the efflux of PGE1-like material from the isolated perfused rabbit heart

Summary Prostaglandin (PG) release was measured from the isolated perfused rabbit heart. The effects of -adrenergic stimulation and blockade suggest that PG synthesis is regulated in part by adrenergic mechanisms.     

Survival and endogenous spleen colonies of irradiated mice after skin wounding and hydroxyurea treatment

Summary Wound trauma-induced survival from radiation may be related to increased mitosis in hematopoietic cells. This is supported by the cell cycle-dependent drug hydroxyurea, which 1. blocked survival of wounded mice injected 2 or 3 days after 900 rad and 2. reduced the number of endogenous CFU-s in wounded mice injected shortly before 700 rad.Supported by the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute, Defense Nuclear Agency, under Research Work Unit MJ00018. Chemotaxis is not a special case of haptotaxis

Summary Serum peptides containing classical anaphylatoxin (CAT) produce marked chemotactic orientation of human neutrophil granulocytes without modifying cell attachment to the substratum. Furthermore gradients of adhesion produced with gammaglobulins fail to induce morphological orientation of neutrophils. 交叉指漂移管型直线加速器束载效应补偿用铁氧体可变阻抗适配器的研究

系统地阐述了铁氧体可变特征阻抗传输线的设计理论，结合德国重离子物理研究所交叉指强流直线加速器的束载对高频功率馈送的输入阻抗的影响，设计了一个可以在强的加速柬载下实现高频功率源和加速腔高频输入阻抗良好匹配的铁氧体可变阻抗适配器。     

BP网络应用于黄河水质的预测研究

利用黄河兰州段水质指标浓度时间序列作为学习样本，选取了DO、COD、氨氮、重金属离子等l0项指标作为输出参数，运用人工神经网络BP模型中的Levenberg—Marguardt优化算法对学习样本优化建模，将优化好的网络的预测结果与实测结果进行了比较，表明BP网络可以很好地用于黄河水质指标值及水质类别的预测。     

关于生物高分子元素活性中心分布规律的第四统计力学理论标度的研究(Ⅱ)——心血管中药的生命动力元素按原子序数分布的规律与群子参数间关系

首次采用第四统计力学群子理论对心血管中药中生命动力元素的分布规律进行了系统的研究 ,结果表明心血管中药的生命动力元素按原子序数分布呈现出如下四种分布规律，即不同中药有轻度元素分布、较轻度元素分布、较重度元素分布和重度元素分布 ,并且每一种分布根据R₂ /R₁的值又可分为两个分支。本文还首次阐述了群子统计参数R₁、R₂ 、R₂ /R₁及R₁·R₂ 在中药生命动力元素分布中的物理内涵。这些研究为进一步定量地研究中药的性味和药效之间的关系提供了必要的依据。     

Splitting an Ordering into a Partition to Minimize Diameter

k consisting of k clusters, with k > 2. Bottom-up agglomerative approaches are also commonly used to construct partitions, and we discuss these in terms of worst-case performance for metric data sets. Our main contribution derives from a new restricted partition formulation that requires each cluster to be an interval of a given ordering of the objects being clustered. Dynamic programming can optimally split such an ordering into a partition P^k for a large class of objectives that includes min-diameter. We explore a variety of ordering heuristics and show that our algorithm, when combined with an appropriate ordering heuristic, outperforms traditional algorithms on both random and non-random data sets.
