抓住竞赛契机 深化计算机专业教学改革

各种计算机类竞赛对高校计算机专业的教学改革起到了积极的促进作用,本文倡导抓住竞赛契机,引导和深化计算机专业教育教学改革,并对教学模式的改革、新课程体系的制定和强化教师队伍的建设提出了具体举措.     

High-power terahertz radiation from relativistic electrons

Terahertz (THz) radiation, which lies in the far-infrared region, is at the interface of electronics and photonics. Narrow-band THz radiation can be produced by free-electron lasers and fast diodes. Broadband THz radiation can be produced by thermal sources and, more recently, by table-top laser-driven sources and by short electron bunches in accelerators, but so far only with low power. Here we report calculations and measurements that confirm the production of high-power broadband THz radiation from subpicosecond electron bunches in an accelerator. The average power is nearly 20 watts, several orders of magnitude higher than any existing source, which could enable various new applications. In particular, many materials have distinct absorptive and dispersive properties in this spectral range, so that THz imaging could reveal interesting features. For example, it would be possible to image the distribution of specific proteins or water in tissue, or buried metal layers in semiconductors; the present source would allow full-field, real-time capture of such images. High peak and average power THz sources are also critical in driving new nonlinear phenomena and for pump-probe studies of dynamical properties of materials.     

Synthesis and properties of crosslinked recombinant pro-resilin

Resilin is a member of a family of elastic proteins that includes elastin, as well as gluten, gliadin, abductin and spider silks. Resilin is found in specialized regions of the cuticle of most insects, providing low stiffness, high strain and efficient energy storage; it is best known for its roles in insect flight and the remarkable jumping ability of fleas and spittle bugs. Previously, the Drosophila melanogaster CG15920 gene was tentatively identified as one encoding a resilin-like protein (pro-resilin). Here we report the cloning and expression of the first exon of the Drosophila CG15920 gene as a soluble protein in Escherichia coli. We show that this recombinant protein can be cast into a rubber-like biomaterial by rapid photochemical crosslinking. This observation validates the role of the putative elastic repeat motif in resilin function. The resilience (recovery after deformation) of crosslinked recombinant resilin was found to exceed that of unfilled synthetic polybutadiene, a high resilience rubber. We believe that our work will greatly facilitate structural investigations into the functional properties of resilin and shed light on more general aspects of the structure of elastomeric proteins. In addition, the ability to rapidly cast samples of this biomaterial may enable its use in situ for both industrial and biomedical applications.     

A conserved sorting-associated protein is mutant in chorea-acanthocytosis

Chorea-acanthocytosis (CHAC, MIM 200150) is an autosomal recessive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the gradual onset of hyperkinetic movements and abnormal erythrocyte morphology (acanthocytosis). Neurological findings closely resemble those observed in Huntington disease. We identified a gene in the CHAC critical region and found 16 different mutations in individuals with chorea-acanthocytosis. CHAC encodes an evolutionarily conserved protein that is probably involved in protein sorting.     

Induction of active immune state by multinucleate tumour cells in mice

Résumé Une immunité active au sarcome, produit par le cholanthrène de méthyle, a été obtenue en utilisant des cellules tumorales multinucléées, associées au virus de Sendai; les réactions ont été spécifiques à la tumeur. A la suite de ces injections, plus de 70% des souris furent résistantes aux trois inoculations, avec 10⁵ cellules vivantes tumorales.     

富锗面包的研制

富锗面包是以面包专用粉为主要原料,以白砂糖、奶油、奶粉、鸡蛋、面包改良剂为辅料,加入富锗酵母,采取快速发酵法,经过调粉、发酵、烘烤精制而成。通过正交实验确定产品的最佳配方,利用ICP-AES方法测定富锗面包中有机锗的含量。
