Multiplicity of monoamine oxidase in chick brain

Summary The substrate- and inhibitor-related characteristics of monoamine oxidase (MAO) were studied on chick brain mitochondria. It was found that neither 5-hydroxytryptamine nor -phenylethylamine is the specific substrate for type A and type B MAO in chick brain.     

Structural changes of deoxyribonucleoprotein fibres following gamma-irradiation under aerobic and hypoxic conditions.

The DNP fibres gamma-irradiated under aerobic condition showed a reduction of their diameter, while no remarkable changes were observed in the DNP fibres irradiated under hypoxic condition by scanning electron microscopy.     

Pyrogen fever in rabbits pretreated with p-chlorophenylalanine or 5, 6-dihydroxytryptamine.

The hyperthermic effect of a bacterial pyrogen has been studied in rabbits pretreated or not with p-chlorophenylalanine or 5, 6-dihydroxytryptamine. The results obtained indicate that a selective reduction of cerebral 5-hydroxytryptamine levels by these drugs do not significantly affect pyrogen hypertermia.     

Does an inhibitor of mitochondrial adenylate kinase also affect oxidative phosphorylation?

Summary Adenylate kinase activity of intact mitochondria is strongly inhibited by Ap₅A, i.e.p ¹,p ⁵-Di (adenosine-5-) pentaphosphate, whereas oxidative phosphorylation is not affected. Therefore, Ap₅A is a useful tool to distinguish between oxidative and non oxidative ATP generating reactions.Acknowledgment. Effect of air ionization on blood serotonin in vitro

Summary The effect of negative and positive air ionisation on siliconized blood serotonin was studied in vitro. The experiments showed that within 10 min positive ionisation increased serotonin levels in total blood (+40%), plasma (+90%), erythrocytes (+50%) and thrombocytes (+200%). On the other hand, negative ionization (10 min) lowered the serotonin content of total blood (–30%), plasma (–42.5%), erythrocytes (–41.7%) and thrombocytes (–72.3%), thus confirming the Krueger Effect in vitro.This research was generously supported by a grant from the Joint Research Fund of the Hebrew University and Hadassah, and Dr. and Mrs.Leonard Appleby of Palmbeach, Florida.Acknowledgment: Our thanks are due to Mr.B. 基于Logistic映射的图像保密通信

将Logistic映射产生的混沌序列作为载波，利用序列具有的良好相关特性，提出了一种图像保密通信方案。计算机仿真结果表明，只要收发双方使用相同的初值条件，即使在有一定噪声的情况下也能正确地进行图像传输，而初值的微小差异将导致通信失败，表明混沌序列用于保密通信具有很高的安全性能，同时方案具有很强的抗干扰能力。对图像恢复质量进行了评估，并给出了误比特率与码片长度的经验公式。     

火箭飞行数据的两种滤波方法对比

传统的火箭飞行数据处理方法是使用α-β-γ数字滤皮离线处理，对飞行数据采样信号的第1点、第2点不进行滤波估值，第3点开始逐个进行估值、预测、校正。该方法需要消耗大量的时间，并且滤波后信号的残留噪声仍然较多。针对此问题，经过大量的数值实验和理论分析，发现用小波方法实时处理火箭飞行数据效果较好，比较两种结果，证明无论是滤波后信号的残留噪声还是消耗的时间上小波方法都优于α-β-γ滤波，且实现了数据的实时处理功能，应用前景好。     

组合预测模型的回归分析方法

给出求解组合预测权系数的回归分析方法，文章首先给出了基于最小二乘和最小一乘准则的线性回归组合预测模型，然后应用最小二乘原理得到权系数最小二乘估计值。由于最小一乘准则下，目标函数不可微，传统的优化规则方法无法求解，故文中提出用基于最小二乘的逐步变权方法进行求解。同时，还给出了百分误差绝对值最小为目标的组合预测模型及权系数求解方法。通过实例分析，表明组合预测模型的预测精度很高，回归效果很显著。
