A latent class probit model for analyzing pick any/N data

A latent class probit model is developed in which it is assumed that the binary data of a particular subject follow a finite mixture of multivariate Bermoulli distributions. An EM algorithm for fitting the model is described and a Monte Carlo procedure for testing the number of latent classes that is required for adequately describing the data is discussed. In the final section, an application of the latent class probit model to some intended purchase data for residential telecommunication devices is reported. 易中天教授在《品三国》中，把历史唯物主义具体化，提出了评论历史人物和历史事件的三项准则，即：“还原”、“比较”、“分析”。易教授在贯彻这三项原则时也难免有疏漏之处：一、把襄阳、赤壁之战说成曹刘之战不能成立；二、曹操一封信促成孙刘联盟的提法不妥；三、《白衣渡江》引用了《吕蒙传》上有两条错误的史料。     

Metabolism in Porifera XII. Further informations on the biosynthesis of 3β-hydroxymethyl-A-nor-steranes in the spongeAxinella verrucosa

Summary Direct incorporation and cold trap experiments suggest that cholest-4-en-3-one is an intermediate in the conversion of cholesterol into 3-hydroxymethyl-A-nor-cholestane in the marine spongeAxinella verrucosa. Cholest-4-en-3-one is further transformed by the sponge into cholest-4-en-3-ol, 5-cholestan-3-one and 5-cholestan-3-ol; these compounds arise from side reactions, which are not part of the major metabolic route leading to 3-hydroxymethyl-A-norsteranes.     

Polyacetylenes from the spongePetrosia ficiformis found in dark caves

Summary Several high molecular weight polyacetylenes have been isolated from the spongePetrosia ficiformis found in dark caves. These compounds are related to, but different from, the polyacetylenes isolated from the same sponge living in its usual habitat.This work is a part of the Progetto finalizzato per l'Oceanografia e i Fondi Marini, CNR, Roma.The authors thank Mr G. Effects of ACTH and diabetes on phospholipid metabolism in adrenal mitochondria.

Incorporation of 32P into adrenal mitochondrial phospholipids (PL) incrased in ACTH-treated rats, but it decreased in diabetics, inspite of the fact that these animals showed adrenal overacity. Since diabetics did not show increased 11 beta-hydroxylation. as opposed to ACTH-treated rats, it is suggested that the stimulation of this enzyme activity by exogenous ACTH is related to an increased turnover of PL at the mitochondrial membrane. The process is impaired in diabetics and prevents the stimulation of 11 beta-hydroxylation.     

Changes in ecdysone levels in the spiderPisaura mirabilis nymphs (Araneae,Pisauridae)

Summary RIA of ecdysones are made on nymphal extracts ofPisaura mirabilis during the intermoulting cycle. The hormone level is low during exuviation and the greatest part of the intermoulting period but increases notably before and after ecdysis. The main hormonal peak or pre-ecdysial peak is due to -ecdysone, characterized by combined TLC/RIA.Acknowledgment. We wish to thank Dr M. Hirn for his help during the manipulations and J. 铁纳米线阵列的结构与微观磁性

采用电化学方法制备了平行排列的Fe纳米线阵列。利用透射电镜、X—射线衍射、物性测量系统和穆斯堡尔谱分别对样品的形貌、晶体结构、宏观磁性和微观磁性进行了研究。结果表明样品形状均匀，但沿纳米线方向有晶体织构，且存在着很强的形状各向异性。利用结果，结合计算机模拟，对样品中原子磁矩的分布进行了讨论。
