The use of formaldehyde-Schiff's reagent as a nucleolar stain has been described. Using different digestion procedures, it was confirmed that the stain is specific for RNA. It can be suitably used as a nucleolar stain, particularly in plant materials after a short TCA extraction, which probably extracts the nonbound RNA. 相似文献

Summary Increase in nuclear size in liver has been used as an index of polyploidy. It has long been considered that the occurrence of polyploidy and multinuclearity are characteristics of mammalian liver. The present study shows the occurrence of these phenomena in the liver of birds, so these features are not confined to mammals. 3 classes of nuclear size groups have been identified. The simultaneous occurrence of polyploidy and binuclearity indicates some sort of interrelationship between them. 相似文献

Résumé Sachant que le facteur entérotoxique peut être développé dans les vibrions non-agglutinables par transfer animal, nous avons déterminé les activités enzymatiques (mucinase, protéase, lécithinase) de ces vibrions. Après ce transfert l'activité lécithinasique a augmenté, et cette activité est semblable à celle d'un virus (V. cholerae). Nous supposons que l'augmentation du facteur entérotoxique est causée par celle de l'activité de la lécithinase.

The different body fluid compartments in normally watered and 4-day water-deprived goats of Rajasthan desert, India, were measured in autumn. The goats maintained plasma volume and extracellular fluid volume, but lost gut and cell water considerably under the experimental conditions; indicating that the maintenance of the fluidity of the blood has priority over the body's other fluid requirements in this desert-adapted species during water deprivation. 相似文献

Summary The fatty acid composition of a new strain of the yeastRhodotorula glutinis, grown in molasses, has been studied and found to contain palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids, and small amounts of other constituents.
