Riassunto Mediante l'impiego del microscopio elettronico viene dimostrata la reale esistenza di piccoli gruppi di cellule muscolari lisce, non in rapporto con vasi, in differenti zone dell'ovaio (stroma, corpo luteo, teca, ghiandola interstiziale) del gatto, del coniglio e del topo. Le cellule muscolari subiscono caratteristiche modificazioni in relazione al ciclo ovarico.

Triploidy in callus culture ofVicia faba L. investigated by the Giemsa C-banding technique

Summary Callus tissue ofVicia faba has been grown from explants of immature embryos. The karyological analysis by the Giemsa C-banding technique has shown triploid and tri-aneuploid mitoses, all with an extra chromosome and with structurally altered karyotypes. Estimates of the amounts of interphase heterochromatin (chromocentres) indicate endopolyploidy up to 12 n.This work was financially supported by the Research Council of the S.R. Croatia — SIZIV. Superior cervical ganglionectomy in the Japanese quail

Résumé Les effets de l'ablation des ganglions cervicals supérieurs deCoturnix coturnix japonica font l'objet de cet exposé. Chez le mâle la gangliectomie bilatérale n'affecte pas l'activité testiculaire. Par contre chez les femelles la quantité d'ufs pondus est nettement réduite et l'interruption post-opératoire de la pondaison est prolongée; de plus la première ponte des jeunes femelles est retardée. LesCoturnix qui ont subi l'ablation des ganglions ont un taux de mortalité plus élevé lorsque les oiseaux sont exposés à des abaissements de température et des changements de photopériodisme.

Zusammenfassung Nach einmaliger Röntgen-Kopfbestrahlung bei Ratten mit 3000 und 4000 R wurde eine statistisch gesicherte Zunahme der Zahl cysteinreicher periventrikulärer Gliazellen im Gehirn festgestellt.     

Effect of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaric acid on blood lipids in normal and cholesterol-fed rats

Zusammenfassung Intraperitonale Verabreichung von 3-Hydroxy-3-Methylglutarsäure setzt bei normalen Ratten den Serumspiegel von Cholesterin, Cholesterinestern, Esterfettsäuren und Triglyceriden signifikant herab. Bei einer cholesterinreichen Diät werden die Konzentrationen von Cholesterin und seinen Estern, bei hyperlipämischen Tieren die des Cholesterins im Serum nicht herabgesetzt. Die übrigen Lipidfraktionen verhalten sich wie im ersten Versuch.
