The environment in which lymphocytes differentiate influences their ability to cooperate in vivo

Summary Whether or not parental B lymphocytes cooperate with F1 T lymphocytes depends upon the environment in which parental bone marrow cells differentiate. Lead metabolism in lactation

Summary A 2-fold increase in lead absorption was observed in lactating animals which received 2 mg Pb/1 in drinking water. About one-half of the absorbed lead was transferred to the litters.Acknowledgments. Diurnal fluctuation of sensitivity to noradrenaline in the rat and thyroid adrenal interaction

Summary Diurnal fluctuation of the sensitivity to noradrenaline, which disappeared after thyroidectomy, was restored after novotyrol treatment. Dexamethasone treatment did not result in the restoration of the diurnal fluctuation of noradrenaline calorigenic action in adrenalectomized animals.

Résumé L'injection intrapéritonéale de la substanceP (60 à 120 U/kg) chez le rat provoque une augmentation marquée de 5-HT dans la paroi de l'estomac et dans l'iléon. Dans la rate de cet animal, on n'y observe pas d'augmentation de 5-HT.L'administration intraluminale de la substanceP (60–80 U) dans l'iléon isolé du cobaye, augmente aussi sensiblement la quantité de 5-HT.     

On the possibilities of estimating the approximate age of macedonian opium by means of a simple colour reading

Résumé L'intensité de la coloration jaune des extraits aqueux tamponnés d'opium macédonien est directement liée à l'âge de l'opium, ce qui permet d'évaluer approximativement l'année de la production de cet opium par un procédé colorimétrique très simple. L'accroissement de la teneur en pigments jaunes semble être accompagné d'une diminution parallèle de l'acide méconique au cours du vieillissement de l'opium.     

Effect of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis γ-globulin upon the electrical activity of the brain

Zusammenfassung Die direkte Wirkung eines-Globulin-Präparates aus Kaninchenserum (Injektion in laterale Hirnkammer des Kaninchens) auf die experimentelle allergische Encephylomyelitis wurde dargestellt und elektroencephalographisch eine Inaktivierung verschiedener Hirnregionen festgestellt.     

Changes of glutamine,glutamic acid and GABA in cortical and subcortical brain structures of hibernating and fully aroused ground squirrels (Citellus citellus)

Résumé On étudie ici la teneur en glutamine, en acide glutamique et en GABA dans des différentes parties du cerveau chez le Spermophile en sommeil hivernal profond et après le réveil de l'hibernation. Les changements les plus remarquables de l'acide glutamique et du GABA ont été constatés dans les structures sous-corticales regardées comme essentielles pour la régulation de ces processus physiologiques coordonnés.
