人工引入核电站排放的关键核素￣（１３１）Ｉ，采用γ能谱和总β计数两种方法确定核素在土壤－蔬菜系统中的转移系数。测得核素不同迁移时间、不同生长期的蔬菜、以及土壤中不同核素浓度等各种情况下的转移系数。给出转移系数的频数分布及变异性。γ能谱法测得的￣（１３１）Ｉ在广东土壤－蔬菜系统中转移系数的观察值范围为１．２８×１０￣（－２）～２．１０×１０￣（－１），几何平均值为５．０５×１０￣（－２），几何标准偏差为１．９６．实验中观察到蔬菜棵株大小、不同气候条件等因素对转移系数的影响。     

Highly cooperative feedback control of retinal rod guanylate cyclase by calcium ions

Visual excitation in retinal rod cells is mediated by a cascade that leads to the amplified hydrolysis of cyclic GMP (cGMP) and the consequent closure of cGMP-activated cation-specific channels in the plasma membrane. Recovery of the dark state requires the resynthesis of cGMP, which is catalysed by guanylate cyclase, an axoneme-associated enzyme. The lowering of the cytosolic calcium concentration (Cai) following illumination is thought to be important in stimulating cyclase activity. This hypothesis is supported by the finding that the cGMP content of rod outer segments increases several-fold when Cai is lowered to less than 10 nM. It is evident that cGMP and Cai levels are reciprocally controlled by negative feedback. Guanylate cyclase from toad ROS is strongly stimulated when the calcium level is lowered from 10 microM to 10 nM, but only if they are excited by light. We show here that the guanylate cyclase activity of unilluminated bovine rod outer segments increases markedly (5 to 20-fold) when the calcium level is lowered from 200 nM to 50 nM. This steep dependence of guanylate cyclase activity on the calcium level in the physiological range has a Hill coefficient of 3.9. Stimulation at low calcium levels is mediated by a protein that can be released from the outer segment membranes by washing with a low salt buffer. Calcium sensitivity is partially restored by adding the soluble extract back to the washed membranes. The highly cooperative activation of guanylate cyclase by the light-induced lowering of Cai is likely to be a key event in restoring the dark current after excitation.     

Endocrine and exocrine pancreatic function after camostate-induced growth of the organ

It is well known that oral administration of camostate induces hyperplasia and hypertrophy of the rat pancreas. It is not clear, however, whether pancreatic hormone and enzyme secretion are affected by camostate treatment.In rats, daily administration of 200 mg camostate/kg b. wt for 14 days significantly increased pancreatic weight and pancreatic content of DNA, protein, amylase, lipase, trypsin and chymotrypsin, as well as the amount of insulin, glucagon and somatostatin. In the intact animal, blood glucose levels and serum concentrations of insulin and glucagon in response to an oral glucose load were not impaired after camostate treatment. In the isolated perfused pancreas, however, insulin and glucagon secretions were reduced, whereas somatostatin release was not affected. The volume of pancreatic juice produced by the unstimulated isolated perfused organ, as well as protein and enzyme secretion, were increased after camostate treatment. Likewise, the isolated perfused pancreas from camostate-treated rats secreted a larger volume of pancreatic juice and more protein in response to cholecystokinin (CCK), while enzyme secretion was affected in a non-parallel manner: amylase release was markedly reduced, lipase release was unchanged, and release of trypsin and chymotrypsin was increased.     

Effect of intralipid infusion on serum high- and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,lecithin: Cholesterol acyltransferase,and lipoprotein lipase in tumor-bearing rats

We compared the effects of 0.45% normal saline (NS), 5% Intralipid^® (IL), and 16.7% glucose (Glu) infusions on total serum triglycerides and cholesterol, serum high-(HDL-c) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c), and activity of serum lecithin: cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), and serum lipoprotein lipase (LPL) in rats implanted with a fibrosarcoma. In tumor-bearing rats given NS, a two-fold increase in total serum cholesterol, a four-fold increase in LDL-c, and a five-fold decrease in the HDL-c/LDL-c ratio were observed compared to tumor-free rats. In tumor-bearing rats administered IL, a two-fold increase in total serum triglyceride and cholesterol, a three-fold increase in HDL-c and HDL-c/LDL-c ratio, and a two-fold increase in LPL activity were observed compared to tumor-bearing rats administered NS. In tumor-bearing rats administered Glu, a two-fold decrease in total serum cholesterol, a two-fold decrease in HDL-c, and a three-fold decrease in LDL-c were observed compared to tumor-bearing rats administered NS. Tumor weights and LCAT activity did not differ significantly between treatment groups. Previous results have demonstrated that lipophilic compounds that interact with plasma lipoproteins have altered pharmacological effects when administered with IL. Therefore, this study suggests that IL infusions alter the HDL-c/LDL-c ratio and could affect the pharmacological behavior of anticancer compounds that predominantly distribute into the LDL fraction upon entrance into the bloodstream.     

The influence of prostacyclin (PGI2) on contractile properties of isolated right ventricle of rat heart

The mechanism of the positive inotropic effect of prostacyclin (PGI₂) (2.6×10^?6 mol/l) on the isolated right ventricle of rat heart was studied. Our results show that the positive inotropic effect of prostacyclin is produced indirectly through beta adrenoceptors and slow Ca²⁺ channels, because blockade of slow Ca²⁺ channels with verapamil (10^?6 mol/l) and beta adrenoceptors with propranolol (10^?6 mol/l) abolishes this effect. Alpha adrenoceptors do not mediate the action of PGI₂.     

A state space approach to forecasting the final vintage of revised data with an application to the index of industrial production

There is considerable interest in the index of industrial production (IIP) as an indicator of the state of the UK's industrial base and, more generally, as a leading economic indicator. However, this index, in common with a number of key macroeconomic time series, is subject to revision as more information becomes available. This raises the problem of forecasting the final vintage of data on IIP. We construct a state space model to solve this problem which incorporates bias adjustments, a model of the measurement error process, and a dynamic model for the final vintage of IIP. Application of the Kalman filter produces an optimal forecast of the final vintage of data.     

Deconstructing maize population structure.

A study of flowering time in maize makes the first use of recent 'structured association' methods-statistical approaches that use independent loci to control for the effects of structure and admixture.
