Adaptation of the pituitary gland to prolonged LRH stimulation

Summary With prolonged constant rate infusion of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LRH), the LH secretion rate of the rat pituitary gland changes continuously until a steady state of relative desensitization has developed. Recovery from this state can occur independently from changes in the pituitary's LH content.

Inhibition of plasminogen activator production in organ cultures by cycloheximide

Summary The production of tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) in rat tongue organ cultures is strongly inhibited by low concentrations of the protein synthesis inhibitor cycloheximide. TPA production is fully resumed after the removal of cycloheximide from the culture medium.This study was supported by a USPHS grant (HE-05050) from the National Heart and Lung Institute.

Zusammenfassung Es werden verschiedene tropische Anophelesarten, besonders die orientalische, cytogenetisch untersucht. Es wird eine Standard-Chromosomenkarte vonAnopheles barbirostris van der Wulp (Typ der Barbirostris-Gruppe einer orientalischen Region und zur Serie Myzorhynchus, der Untergattung Anopheles gehörend) als erste der Serie orientalischer Anophelesarten vorgeschlagen.
