Graft of Polybutylene Terephthalate Meltblown Nonwovens by Plasma Initiation and Their Surface Performance

Main factors affecting the low temperature plasma initia-tion and graft modification of acrylic acid onto polybuty-lene terephthalate(PBT)meltblown nonwovens are stud-ied.The relations between hydrophilic performance ofthe product and plasma power,treating time,andmonomer concentration are investigated.The surfaceperformances of grafted products are analyzed.It is ob-tained that hydrophilic performance of PBT nonwovens isgreatly improved due to the etching of the plasma andthe introduction of polar groups so as to meet the needsof leukocyte depleting materials.     

Study On Pattern Design of Men''''s Tailored-suit Sleeve

Sleeve pattern design of men' s tailored - suit is one of the most difficult problems of clothing pattern design. Based on the experimental studies of armhole girth, the difference of armhole width and crown height, crown angle, under sleeve curve's diagonal line length, crown ease and its distribution rule, this paper mainly deals with the sleeve pattern design of tailored - suit for Chinese men. The influences of these factors are discussed and furthermore, some qualitative, quantifiable conclusions are drawn to design perfect pattern of men' s tailored - suit sleeve.      

Measurement and Analysis of a Take-down Mechanism of Eccentric Links

In this paper the rule of take-down speed variationthrough a mechanism of eccentric links is analysed.Us-ing telemetric technique,the authors dynamicly mea-sured take-down speed and tension of this mechanism.The curve diagram of the take-down speed is experi-mentally obtained.Results of theoretical analysis and ex-perimental measurement show that take-down tensionof this kind of mechanism is more even than that of theoblique rings in model Z214 interlock machine and it isdeeply affected by many factors which include the instal-lation of the conic gear,horizontality of the take-downroller,gaps between hinge joint points of the wholemechanism and so on.     

Measuring Fiber Orientation in Nonwoven Fabrics by Laser Scattering Method PartⅠ Principle and Instrumentation

The scattering performance of a parallel laser beam onthe parallel fiber model and nonwoven fabrics are studiedin detail. A device of computer - program - controlledsystem for measuring laser scattering intensity - angledistribution function of fiber assemblies is set up, and themeasuring condition for distingulslhing the fibers ar-ranged at different directions is carried out. The materi-als of two categories, the models of fiber assembly andnonwoven fabrics made with varied processing methods,are studied. The analysis and experiments show that thefiber orientation distribution functions in the 2 - dimen-sional fiber assemblies can be sensitively determined bylaser scattering method.     

Analysis of the Variations of Body Build of Middle-and Old-aged and Research on the Prototype

The characteristics of body build of middle - and old -aged women and its rule of variations as well as the basic sizes of various parts are discussed. All these are based on the body measurements of this age group, and also on the statistical studies of the measurement data. By setting the regression equation, the calculating formulae of various control parts are obtained, thus establishing the prototype of this age group for women.

Owing to the influences of Greek's view of fate, Dorset peasant's fatalism and Schopenhauer' s pessimistic philosophy, Hardy showed more or less a pessimistic tendency in his early writings and this tendency illustrated itself in his writing of Eustacia, heroine of The Return of the Native. He believed that Eustacia' s tragedy resulted from the disagreement between her aspiration for a brilliant life outside Egdon Heath and the fate imposed on her by some mysterious force working at odds with her. This is what the paper attempts to prove.     

Differential Capillary Effect Model of Fabric and Its Application

The concept of the differential capillary effect was presented by foreign scholars several years ago, and the principle was used to design sportswear fabrics with good wet permeability and good drying functions for famous sports teams. Because the differential capillary effect model was not established in theory, it was impossible to fulfill the best functions. In this paper, by setting up the differential capillary effect of fabric, the factors to influence wet permeability and drying functions of the model is discussed in theory, and the means to optimize the design of the fabric is presented and proven practically by the experiment. The optimum fabric with good permeability and good drying functions can be designed using the model at last.

Pilot Study on Drinking Water Advanced Treatment by GAC-MF System

The pilot pedomance of the combined GAC-MF membrane process for drinking water advanced treatment was described. In the process of GAC adsorption, under the conditions of 20min HRT and 6 m/h filtration rate, the removal efficiencies of UV254 and trichloromethane could reach 40% and 50% respectively and the UV254 and trichloromethane in system effluent was less than 0.015cm^-1 and 5 μg/L respectively. Inthe post MF membrane process, MF membrane effectively retained the particles and bacteria in raw water. The effluentturbidity was less than 0.2 NTU and no bacteria were detectedat all in permeate. A computer-controlled system was employedto control this system. The mcmlrane operating parameters of backwash interval, dtration and flux were studied. The backwash interval of 10-min, 20-min and 60-min wasresearched respectively, and the variation of trans-membrane pressure was also analyzed. Comequently short backwash interval was recommended under the same water consume.
