Phosphate transport inTrypanosoma cruzi

Zusammenfassung Epimastigoten vonTrypanosoma cruzi sind für Orthophosphate (P _i ) relativ undurchlässig. Man kann trotzdem bei zellen, die aus Ortophosphat armen Kulturen stammen, einen signifikanten Übertritt von Ortophosphat ins Zellinnere messen. Bei diesen Zellen ist die Geschwindigkeit des P _i -Transportes ins Zellinnere trotz eines diesem Vorgang entgegenwirkenden Phosphat-Konzentrationsgradienten etwa 5 mal grösser als die der P _i -Abgabe aus dem Zellinnern des umgebenden Mediums. Die Durchlässigkeitsschranke für P _i wird durch 3 mM Jodacetat zerstört.

Synergism of terramycin to inhibit the reproductivity ofAphis fabae Scop

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass Piperonylbutoxid (0,2%) in Kombination mit Terramycin (0,2%) und dem Emulgator NP₁₀ (0,1%) die Larvalentwicklung verlangsamt und sowohl das Gewicht wie die Reproduktionsfähigkeit der resultierenden Adulten vonAphis fabae reduziert. Durch Zugabe des allein unwirksamen Piperonylbutoxyds werden diese Effekte gesteigert.

The chromosomes of the didelphiid marsupialMarmosa robinsoni bangs

Résumé L'étude des chromosomes somatiques du marsupial sudaméricainMarmosa robinsoni Bangs, démontre que l'équipement chromosomique diploïde de cette espèce de la subfamille Didelphiinae est composé de 14 chromosomes. Trois paires d'autosomes sont grands et submétacentriques; 1 paire est formée par de chromosomes moyens, métacentriques, et 2 paires sont acrocentriques et plus petites. Le complexe sexuel est du typeXY, formé par unX métacentrique et unY télocentrique, tous les 2 étant les chromosomes les plus petits du complément. La similitude de ce caryotype avec celui du genreCaluromys, appartenant à la subfamille Microbiotherinae, est remarquable.     

Germ cell chromosomes in two species of terrestrial isopods from India

Summary In 2 species of terrestrial isopods, namelyPorcellio assamensis andP. laevis, the diploid and haploid numbers of chromosomes have been established to be 48 and 24 respectively for the former species and 50 and 25 respectively for the latter species. Female heterogamety of the ZW type has been found to exist inP. laevis.The authors express their sincere thanks to Prof. G.P. Sharma, and to Prof. S. Thymidine-teratogenesis in different species of the genusDrosophila

Zusammenfassung Der Autor hat bereits früher über den teratogenen Effekt von Thymidin beiD. melanogaster berichtet. Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit demselben Phänomen bei anderenDrosophila-Arten undMegaselia scalaris (Phoridae). Während der teratogene Effekt beiD. simulans, D. mercatorum undD. funebris der gleiche wie beiD. melanogaster ist, tritt beiD. subobscura andMegaselia scalaris keine teratogene Wirkung auf. Die für die genannten Arten verwendete Thymidinkonzentration erweist sich fürD. hydei als stark toxisch und verhindert die Verpuppung vollkommen. Das Ergebnis zeigt, dass verschiedene genetische Systeme sehr unterschiedlich auf ein und dieselbe chemische Substanz reagieren können.
