Production and characterization of antibody against aflatoxin M1

Antibody against aflatoxin M1 was obtained after immunization of rabbits with bovine serum albumin-afla M1 oxime conjugate. The antibody has greatest binding efficiency for afla M1, and was less efficient for afla B1. Cross-reaction of antibody with aflatoxin Q1, aflatoxicol, and aflatoxin B2a was weak. Aflatoxin B2, G1, and G2 and afla B1-guanine adducts showed almost no cross-reaction with the antibody. The sensitivity of the binding assay for aflatoxin M1 detection is in the range of 1-10 ng per assay. Detailed methods for the preparation of the conjugate, production of immune serum, and methods for antibody determination are described.

Zusammenfassung Während der Perfusion der Submandibulardrüse der Katze mit kaliumfreier Lockelösung oder mit einer Lockelösung, in der das meiste Kochsalz durch Tetraethylammoniumchlorid ersetzt wurde, sind die sekretorischen Potentialdifferenzen der basalen Azinuszellmembran vergrössert. Ein Kaliumstrom aus der Azinuszelle, der teilweise von einem Natriumstrom in die Zelle kurzgeschlossen wird, könnte die sekretorischen Potentialdifferenzen erklären.

Zusammenfassung Ischämie ruft in der Kleinhirnrinde eine ähnliche Depolarisation hervor wie in der Grosshirnrinde. Durch lokale KCl-Applikation erhält man in der Kleinhirnrinde langsame Potentialwellen, die in Amplitude und Ausbreitungsgeschwindigkeit der «spreading depression» vonLeão in der Grosshirnrinde entsprechen. Ischämie und lokale Applikation von 2,4-Dinitrophenol bewirken in beiden Rindengebieten gleiche Verschiebungen der Kaliumionen.     

The effect of the adrenal cortex and diet composition on the rate of acetoacetate formation by liver slices from infant and adult rats

Zusammenfassung Hoher Acetoacetatanteil in Leber junger Ratten wird durch Kortikosteronverabreichungin vivo am 10. Tag nach Geburt erniedrigt. Bei erwachsenen Ratten kein Hormoneinfluss. Adrenalektomie (14. Tag nach Geburt) führt zu hoher Produktion (19. Tag). Nur bei erwachsenen, nicht hungernden Ratten ist dies weniger ausgeprägt.
