Stimulation of plant development by some uracil analogues

Zusammenfassung Es wurde eine entwicklungsfördernde Wirkung von 5-Bromuracil und 5-Nitrouracil bereits in geringen Mengen auf manche Pflanzen (unter anderem Tomaten, Gurken und Gartenlattich) festgestellt. 5-Bromuracil wird dabei nicht in die Pflanzennukleinsäuren eingebaut, sondern unterliegt einem schnellen Abbau; weiterhin verursacht der Stoff eine Hemmung des Uracilabbaues. Die Möglichkeit einer Beeinflussung der genetischen Eigenschaften wird diskutiert.     

The effect of early weaning on spermiogenesis in adult rats

Zusammenfassung Junge, vorzeitig (18 Tage nach der Geburt entwöhnte Ratten) zeigen im Alter von 12 Monaten Schädigungen im spermiogenen Hodenepithel. 12 Tage später entwöhnte Ratten entwickeln sich normal. Die beobachteten Schädigungen treten im Alter von 6 Monaten noch nicht auf.     

Mass spectrometry in structural and stereochemical problems spegazzinine and spegazzinidine

Zusammenfassung Auf Grund von Protonresonanz und massenspektrometrischen Messungen werden die Strukturen III und VII für die Aspidosperma-Alkaloide Spegazzinidin und Spegazzinin vorgeschlagen.

Kinetics of division in PHA-stimulated pig lymphocytes

Summary Our results indicate that pig lymphocytes in culture complete their 1st division at 24 h. Successive clutches induced by surgical excision of post-ovulatory oocytes in the lizard Cnemidophorus uniparens.

19 animals had eggs excised from the oviducts soon after ovulation. Number of clutches was nearly tripled in excised animals as compared to controls. An influence of eggs in the oviduct on number of clutches is suggested and may indicate a neuronal link between oviduct and hypothalamus.
