Effects of anaesthesia and chronic catheterization on circulating levels of prostaglandins (PGE2 and PGF2a in dogs

Summary Chronic catheterization of aorta and inferior vena cava in dogs did not significantly affect circulating levels of prostaglandins (PGE₂ and PGF_2a ). Zusammenfassung Sulfonylharnstoffderivate wirken bei der mit Wasser belasteten Ratte wie ein Salidiureticum. Dieser Wirkungsmodus ist der Grund weshalb diese Pharmaka wie Salidiuretica bei Diabetes insipidus günstig wirken.

Résumé L'administration presque simultanée d'un gel de phosphate d'alumine et de²²⁶RaCl₂ réduit de 800 fois l'absorption intestinale du²²⁶Ra chez la souris. La charge corporelle en⁸⁵Sr et⁴⁷Ca est réduite d'environ 10 resp. 3 fois.     

Enzymatic test for the detection of a riboflavin deficiency. NADPH-dependent glutathione reductase of red blood cells and its activation by FAD in vitro

Zusammenfassung Die NADPH-spezifische Glutathion-reduktaseaktivität hämolysierter Erythrozyten erscheint brauchbar als Parameter zur Erfassung von Riboflavin-mangelzuständen. Die Enzymaktivität wird in vitro durch einen Zusatz von FAD bei Riboflavinmangelratten wesentlich stärker erhöht als bei Kontrollratten. Untersuchungen mit menschlichen Erythrozyten deuten darauf hin, dass auch hier die Aktivierbarkeit des Enzyms durch FAD vom Riboflavinstatus abhängt.

Small myelinated perikarya in the cerebellar granular layer of mammals including man

Zusammenfassung Kleinzellen mit perikarieller Markscheide wurden in der Körnerschicht des Kleinhirns verschiedener Säuger und des Menschen gefunden. Diese Zellen treten bei der Maus erst am 8. Tag nach der Geburt auf und wurden nur in der Körnerschicht, offenbar als Körnerzellen, beobachtet.     

Starvation and gastrin storage in the pyloric antral mucosa of male rabbits

Résumé Parmi les lapins mâles privés de nourriture pendant une période de 72 h au maximum, la quantité de gastrine brutte par gramme fut la plus élevée chez les sujets soumis à ce test pendant 12 h et la moins élevée chez ceux qui l'ont subit pendant 72 h au maximum. L'activité gastrique de l'extrait brut n'était pas affectée par la privation de nourriture et aucune corrélation ne put être établie entre le taux de la glucose sanguine et la gastrine accumulée chez les lapins affamés.

Studies on the quaternary structure of the first enzyme for histidine biosynthesis

Resumen Se han realizado estudios de asociación-disociación por filtración en gel con el primer enzima de la biosíntesis de histidina enEscherichia coli, en presencia de sustratos y ligandos. Se observa una interconversión reversible entre las formas dímero, tetrámero y exámero, y una agregación irreversible de orden superior.
