Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass die toxische Wirkung von Desoxycholsäure auf Hefe pH-abhängig ist (pH 7.3). Da das pH der Tumoren niedriger ist, wird die Möglichkeit einer krebshemmenden Wirkung diskutiert.     

New species of the superfamily Euphthiracaroidea (Acari: Oribatida) from Madagascar and Tanzania

Five new species of the family Euphthiracaridae are described, identified and figured from the Afrotropical region: Oribotritia breviseta sp. nov. from Andasibe National Park of Madagascar; Acrotritia paraardua sp. nov. from Vohimana Experimental Reserve, Ambohitanely Special Reserve and Andasibe National Park of Madagascar; Acrotritia paradikra sp. nov. from Ranomafana National Park and Ankarafantsika National Park of Masagascar; Microtritia diaphoros sp. nov. from the Nguru Mountains of Tanzania; and Microtritia parahauseri sp. nov from the Uluguru Mountains of Tanzania. A comparison with the most closely related species of the genera Oribotritia, Acrotritia and Microtritia is also presented.

Conformation and local anesthetic activity of carbanilates

Summary The influence of spatial configuration on intensity, onset, and duration of anesthetic effect has been observed in some carbanilate local anesthetics of fixed conformation. Synthesis of the carbanilates is described.     

The effect of the ergoline derivative VUFB-6683 on the adenohypophysial prolactin concentration in rats

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe vond-6-Methyl-8-ergolin-I-ylacetamid-Tartarat, VUFB-6683 wurde bei säugenden Ratten das Gewicht und der Prolaktinspiegel der Adenohypophyse herabgesetzt und die Laktation gehemmt.

Der Einfluss der Befruchtung mit Spermagemisch auf die Ribonukleinsäure während der embryonalen Entwicklung der Regenbogenforelle

Résumé La fécondation des ufs de la truite avec du sperme mélangé influence la quantité d'acide ribonucléique au cours de la gastrulation. L'augmentation de l'acide ribonucléique est accompagnée d'une réduction de la mortalité des embryons. L'uf non fécondé ne contient pas d'acide ribonucléique chimiquement déterminable. Cet acide est synthétisé au cours du développement à partir de la fécondation des ufs. Il n'est pas certain que la fécondation avec du sperme mélangé trouble la synthèse de l'acide thymonucléique pendant la mitose.     

Über einen die Samenbläschen hemmenden Stoff aus Luzerne

Summary Extracts of lucerne with 0.1N HCl prepared and fractionated by the method ofAdler ¹⁶ give a filtrate which contains anantigonadal substance. This can be obtained from the extract after precipitation with lead acetate and evaporation. The residue after extraction with cold pyridin contains long needle-crystals insoluble in ethanol, methanol, ether and chloroform. A solution of these crystals injected into rats caused a decrease in weight of the seminal vesicles. In the mouse this substance is without effect.     

The chemical nature of the pig blood-group substances dissolved in the serum

Zusammenfassung In Schweineseren finden sich die Blutgruppenantigene A, Na and Nb in gelöster Form. Aus den entsprechenden Schweineseren wurden einerseits die Totallipide, andererseits die Mucoproteide extrahiert und in immunologischen Hemmungstests auf ihre Aktivität im A- und N-System untersucht. Es ergab sich, dass die determinanten Gruppen der Na- und Nb-Antigene an Mucoproteide gebunden sind, während die determinante Gruppe des A-Antigens sowohl an ein Mucoproteid als auch an ein Lipid gebunden ist.     

Collagen proteins in rats on long-term tyrosine diet

Zusammenfassung Bei Ratten wurde nach 12monatlicher Diät mit 5% 1-Tyrosin eine Alkaptonurie hervorgerufen. Die histologische Prüfung ergab eine Übersättigung mit der Homogentisinsäure, eine verringerte Aktivität der Oxidase der Homogentisinsäure in der Leber und deren massive Ausscheidung im Harn.

Zusammenfassung Die hohe bakteriostatische und cancerostatische Wirkung eines neuen Antimetaboliten, 5-Azacytidin, wird beschrieben.     

Gonadotrope Wirkung von Spermaextrakten

Summary The action of sperm extracts and acetone precipitate of these extracts upon the growth of ovary and uterus was investigated on infantile mice and rats. It was found that injections of the above-mentioned agents increased the uterine and ovarian weights and caused microscopic changes similar to those caused by FSH. The active principle present in the sperm must be a peptid.
