Effects of dopamine and ACTH on steroid sensitive single neurones in the basal hypothalamus

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe der Mikroelektrophorese wurde die Wirkung von Dexamethasonphosphat, Dopamin und ACTH lokal an Einzelneuronen des Hypothalamus der Ratte geprüft. Dexamethason-phosphat (ein synthetisches Corticosteroid) hemmte mehrheitlich die Aktivität der steroidempfindlichen Zellen im Hypothalamus, einige wenige dieser Zellen wurden aktiviert. Dopamin hemmte die Aktivität dieser steroidempfindlichen Neuronen sehr stark. ACTH dagegen aktivierte diese Zellen. Diese Resultate werden in Zusammenhang mit einem negativen und einem positiven «Feedback»-Mechanismus, der die ACTH-Bildung steuert, diskutiert.

Summary Highly active local anaesthetics from the group of basic substituted cyclohexylesters of 2-chloro-, 2, 6-dichloro-, 2-chloro-6-methyl-, 2-methyl-, 2, 6-dimethyl-and 2,4,6-trimethylcarbanilic acid were developed. The substances were tested for local anaesthetic activity in surface anaesthesia.     

Alteration of humoral antibody production following in vivo administration of phytohemagglutinin

Zusammenfassung Es wird gezeigt, dass Phythämagglutinin (PHA) die Antikörperbildung gegenBrucella abortus bei der Maus merklich herabsetzt, aber nur dann, wenn PHA vor dem Antigenstimulus verabreicht wird und die immunologische Zweitreaktion (secondary response) unverändert bleibt.

Immunofluorescent technique and long acting thyroid stimulator in human serum

Résumé La technique immunofluorescente deCoons, sur coupes de thyroïdes thyrotoxiques humaines, fixées ou non fixées, a été appliquée à des sérums de sujets hyperthyroïdiens et de sujets atteints de thyroïdite atrophique asymptomatique. Cette technique détecte spécifiquement l'anticorps anticytoplasmique fixant le complément. Elle ne permet pas la mise en évidence du LATS.     

Repopulation of thymus,spleen and bone-marrow of irradiated AKR mice injected with normal or irradiated bone-marrow cells

Résumé L'utilisation d'une race de souris (AKR/T1Ald) ne possédant que 38 chromosomes a permis de montrer que les cellules de moelle que l'on injecte à un individu irradié repeuplent directement la moelle, le thymus et la rate du receveur. Si le donneur est irradié, la pénétration des cellules n'est importante que dans la rate du receveur.

Phenobarbital specific antisera and radioimmunoassay

Résumé On a développé un anticorps d'une grande affinité et spécifité envers le phénobarbital en inoculant des lapins avec une solution de barbiturateprotéide, synthétisée d'acide barbiturique de 5-phényl-5-(4-aminobutyl) et d'albumine de sérum bovin par du carbodiimide. Usant de cet anticorps comme radioimmunoeassai, on peut mesurer jusqu'à 1 picomole de phénobarbital par ml de fluides biologique sans que d'autres barbiturates y opposent une réaction significative.
