Synthesis of rhodotorucine A,the inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium toruloides

Summary The inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium turuloides, named rhodotorucine A (H-Tyr-Pro-Glu-Ile-Ser-Trp-Thr-Arg-Asn-Gly-Cys(S-farnesyl)-OH), has been synthesized to confirm the structure proposed for the natural lipopeptide. The synthetic S-farnesyl undecapeptide has identical Rf values on TLC using several different solvents, and also the same biological activity as the natural hormone.Acknowledgments. Lymphatic metastasis of tumour; persistent transport of cells

Summary A model of lymphatic metastasis established by injecting Walker rat carcinoma cells into the rat footpad was used to study the output of tumour cells from the footpad. The lymphatic efferent from the footpad was cannulated in a group of rats with advanced neoplasm; it was shown that the output of tumou cells was continuou over periods up to 90 min and ranged from 10²–10⁵ cells/min.Acknowledgment. Influence of phenylephrine and orciprenaline on the release of noradrenaline

Zusammenfassung Die Wirkung von Phenylephrin und Orciprenalin auf die Freisetzung von Noradrenalin wurde an isolierten, perfundierten Kaninchenherzen mit¹⁴C-markierten Noradrenalin-Vorräten untersucht. Beide Stoffe verminderten die Abgabe von¹⁴C-Noradrenalin bei Sympathicusreizung. Diese Hemmwirkung wirde durch Vorinfusion von Phenoxybenzamin, nicht aber durch Vorinfusion von Propranolol verhindert.

Acceleration of turnover of14C-catecholamines in rat brain by chlorpromazine

Zusammenfassung Vorbehandlung mit 10 mg/kg Chlorpromazin (CPZ) i.p. bewirkt bei Ratten, denen¹⁴C-Tyrosin injiziert wurde, eine Zunahme der spezifischen Radioaktivität von¹⁴C-Dopamin im Gehirn. CPZ beschleunigt bei Tieren, deren zerebrale Katecholamine durchl-2¹⁴C-Dopa markiert wurden, den Abfall der spezifischen Radioaktivität von Dopamin und Noradrenalin. Daraus wird geschlossen, dass CPZ den Umsatz zerebraler Katecholamine erhöht.
