Nanostructured semiconductors have been researched intensively for energy conversion and storage applications in recent decades. Despite of tremendous find- ings and achievements, the performance of the devices resulted from the nanomaterials in terms of energy conversion efficiency and storage capacity needs further improvement to become economically viable for subsequent commercializa- tion. Hydrogenation is a simple, efficient, and cost-effective way for tailoring the electronic and morphological properties of the nanostructured materials. This work reviews a series of hydrogenated nanostructured materials was produced by the hydrogenation of a wide range of nanomaterials. These materials with improved inherent conductivity and changed characteristic lattice structure possess much enhanced per- formance for energy conversion application, e.g., photo- electrocatalytic production of hydrogen, and energy storage applications, e.g., lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. The hydrogenation mechanisms as well as resultant properties responsible for the efficiency improvement are explored in details. This work provides guidance for researchers to use the hydrogenation technology to design functional materials.  相似文献

We report a high-quality draft of the genome sequence of the grey, short-tailed opossum (Monodelphis domestica). As the first metatherian ('marsupial') species to be sequenced, the opossum provides a unique perspective on the organization and evolution of mammalian genomes. Distinctive features of the opossum chromosomes provide support for recent theories about genome evolution and function, including a strong influence of biased gene conversion on nucleotide sequence composition, and a relationship between chromosomal characteristics and X chromosome inactivation. Comparison of opossum and eutherian genomes also reveals a sharp difference in evolutionary innovation between protein-coding and non-coding functional elements. True innovation in protein-coding genes seems to be relatively rare, with lineage-specific differences being largely due to diversification and rapid turnover in gene families involved in environmental interactions. In contrast, about 20% of eutherian conserved non-coding elements (CNEs) are recent inventions that postdate the divergence of Eutheria and Metatheria. A substantial proportion of these eutherian-specific CNEs arose from sequence inserted by transposable elements, pointing to transposons as a major creative force in the evolution of mammalian gene regulation.  相似文献

由于长空间的特殊空间尺寸,基于传统室内声学理论所假设的扩散声场分布规律和混响规律在长空间不完全适用.基于几何声学的虚源法可以对长空间的声场的传播进行研究.然而,虚源法建模忽略了长空间中声线在边界多次反射产生的干涉效应.在虚源法的基础上,通过对虚源之间的相干求和,考虑了多次反射形成的无限个虚源之间的干涉效应,并且将各不相同的边界阻抗率加入到模型中,实现了一种预测矩形长空间中声场的传播的复虚源模型.实验所用长空间的墙壁分别是密度板和吸声材料,以模拟不同的阻抗边界.实验采用衰减系数逾量描述数值模拟和实际测量的结果.实验证明了所提理论模型的有效性,所提理论模型的预测结果可以较好地模拟出不同边界长空间声场的衰减趋势,反映出不同频率的声波在长空间中的传播趋势,比基于声线法的软件ODEON的结果更接近实验结果.  相似文献

Measurement of cytoplasmic free calcium, [Ca2+]i, in single human endothelial cells has shown that low doses of the inflammatory mediator histamine evoke asynchronous repetitive spikes in [Ca2+]i whereas high doses cause a maintained elevated [Ca2+]i. We discuss possible regulatory mechanisms, and the potential physiological and pathological implications of such a frequency-modulated [Ca2+]i signalling system.  相似文献

The Friend-virus-derived mouse erythroleukaemia (MEL) cell lines represent transformed early erythroid precursors that can be induced to differentiate into more mature erythroid cells by a variety of agents including dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO). There is a latent period of 12 hours after inducer is added, when 80-90% of the cells become irreversibly committed to the differentiation programme, undergoing several rounds of cell division before permanently ceasing to replicate. After DMSO induction, a biphasic decline in steady-state levels of c-myc and c-myb messenger RNAs occurs. Following the initial decrease in c-myc mRNA expression, the subsequent increase occurs in, and is restricted to, the G1 phase of the cell cycle. We sought to determine whether the down-regulation is a necessary step in chemically induced differentiation. Experiments reported here indicate that expression in MEL cells of a transfected human c-myc gene inhibits the terminal differentiation process.  相似文献

The BB rat is among the best models of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus--with onset and pathogenesis closely resembling the human disease. One unusual feature is a severe T-cell lymphopenia, which appears to be inherited as a recessive trait controlled by a single gene, Lyp. Based on genetic analysis of several crosses, we show that development of diabetes involves at least three genes: Lyp, which is tightly linked to the neuropeptide Y (Npy) gene on chromosome 4, a gene linked to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on chromosome 20, and a third unmapped gene for which the Fischer rat strain carries an allele conferring resistance.  相似文献

Perception of depth is a fundamental challenge for the visual system, particularly for observers moving through their environment. The brain makes use of multiple visual cues to reconstruct the three-dimensional structure of a scene. One potent cue, motion parallax, frequently arises during translation of the observer because the images of objects at different distances move across the retina with different velocities. Human psychophysical studies have demonstrated that motion parallax can be a powerful depth cue, and motion parallax seems to be heavily exploited by animal species that lack highly developed binocular vision. However, little is known about the neural mechanisms that underlie this capacity. Here we show, by using a virtual-reality system to translate macaque monkeys (Macaca mulatta) while they viewed motion parallax displays that simulated objects at different depths, that many neurons in the middle temporal area (area MT) signal the sign of depth (near versus far) from motion parallax in the absence of other depth cues. To achieve this, neurons must combine visual motion with extra-retinal (non-visual) signals related to the animal's movement. Our findings suggest a new neural substrate for depth perception and demonstrate a robust interaction of visual and non-visual cues in area MT. Combined with previous studies that implicate area MT in depth perception based on binocular disparities, our results suggest that area MT contains a more general representation of three-dimensional space that makes use of multiple cues.  相似文献
