Shwartzman phenomenon without endotoxin preparation

Zusammenfassung Kasein, Pepton bzw. Baktokasiton wurde als präparierende Erstinjektion für lokalisiertes Shwartzman-Phänomen an Kaninchen verwendet. Nach provozierender i.v. Endotoxininjektion kommt es zum typischen Shwartzman-Phänomen. Da die verwendeten Substanzen Chemotaxis von Leukozyten verursachen, ist anzunehmen, dass die an Stelle der präparierenden Injektion angesammelten Leukozyten in der Ausbildung des Shwartzman-Phänomens eine vorwiegende Rolle spielen.     

Electron microscopic observations in the substantia nigra of mouse during reserpine administration

Zusammenfassung Reserpin bewirkte an den Zellen der Substantia nigra der Maus Verschwinden der Katecholamin-haltigen Granula und Anschwellen des endoplasmatischen Retikulums. Das Hauptmerkmal von normalen Kontrollzellen bildeten elektronenoptisch dichte Körper im Cytoplasma.     

Degenerative atrophy of central terminals of primary sensory neurons induced by blockade of axoplasmic transport in peripheral nerves

Summary Perineural colchicine- or vinblastine-treatment results in disappearance of non-lysosomal acid phosphatase activity, characterizing axon terminals in the Rolando substance of the normal spinal cord. Ultrastructural alterations are identical with those seen in the course of degenerative atrophy.Supported by research grant No. 4-01-0303-01-1 from the Hungarian Ministry of Health.     

Molecular aspects of 2 human urinary glycoproteins with histocompatibility antigen (HLA) serological activity]

Two serologically active urinary glycoproteins (HLA-A 9 and HLA-B 12) were isolated from urine provided by a patient suffering from tubular proteinuria. Their N-terminal sequences were automatically determined. The latter were identical with the sequence of another urinary glycoprotein (protein HC). The relationship between protein HC and the serological activity is discussed.     

Effect of orotic acid on liver glycogen of different animal species

Summary The effect of orotic acid on the liver glycogen content in the mice, frogs and catfish was studied. It was observed that the orotic acid significantly increases the glycogen content in the liver of mice and catfish as it does in rats. On the other hand it causes a fall of the glycogen level in frogs in experiments made both in autumn and spring. This effect was modified by amino acids administrated together with orotic acid.
