Down-conversion properties of Eu3+ doped M2Y2Si2O9 (M = Ba, Ca, Mg, Sr) phosphors have been investigated in detail. These phosphors were synthesized via the simple, fast and cost-effective sol-gel technique at a temperature of 950 °C. Color coordinates and emission color can be altered by the varying concentration of dopant ion in Ca2Y2Si2O9 phosphor. Optimum luminescence intensity was obtained when doping 0.03 mol of Eu3+ ion. Using the excitation wavelength of 395 nm, these silicates showed strong red color, pure and sharp spectral peaks in visible region due to 5D0→7F1-3 transitions of Eu3+ present in the lattice. Effect of reaction temperature on luminescence was also analyzed for these phosphors. The sharp peaks in the X-ray diffraction pattern indicated the high crystallinity of prepared phosphors. Ca2Y2Si2O9 has shown an orthorhombic crystal structure. The FTIR results confirmed the metal-oxygen vibrational modes available in the range of 400–1600 cm?1. Transmission electron microscopy images have revealed that the variation of alkaline earth metal provided a very different crystal structure. Excellent down conversion response of these phosphor materials can provide a great significance in the application of the coming solar devices. 相似文献

Summary The effect of tributyltin (TBT) chloride on the growth of cytochrome-deficient and cytochrome-containing cells ofEscherichia coli SASX76 was examined. The former cells were found to be at least 20 times more sensitive to TBT. It is proposed that the differential sensitivity of these two cell types to the biocide, TBT, may be due to a different mode of energy generation by cytochrome-deficient and cytochrome-sufficient cells. In addition to the energy state, the pH change caused by the presence and absence of cytochromes which occurred during growth also resulted in a differential sensitivity of these cells.Acknowledgments. Summary Rats fed on a rice diet deficient in lysine and threonine showed increased activities of CDP-Choline pathway enzymes and incorporation of (methyl-3H)-choline into hepatic microsomal phosphatidylcholine, compared to rats fed on the same diet supplemented with lysine and threonine. However, the amount of microsomal phosphatidylcholine was significantly decreased in rats fed a deficient rice diet. These results suggest an enhanced phosphatidylcholine catabolism in rats fed on a rice diet deficient in lysine and threonine. Summary The effect of mycotoxin (T-2 toxin) on catecholamines and Na+, K+-ATPase activities in rat epididymis has been evaluated. Dopamine and norepinephrine levels were significantly elevated in the caput and corpus regions whereas their levels remained unchanged in the caudal part of the epididymis. Na+, K+-ATPase activity was significantly increased in all the three regions of rat epididymis as a result of the toxin treatment. Intraperitoneal administration of tuftsin-M [Thr–Lys–Pro–Arg–NH–(CH2)2–NH–CO–C15H31] to Balb/C mice has been shown to induce a respiratory burst in the peritoneal exudate cells. The macrophages exhibited enhanced levels of O2
–, H2O2, NADPH oxidase and myeloperoxidase, but the activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase remained virtually unchanged. The magnitude of the oxidative burst depended directly on the dose of tuftsin-M; higher activity was observed at higher doses of the peptide. Tuftsin-M enhanced the generation of both O

Bi_(2/3)Cu_3Ti_4O_(12)(BCTO) ceramic was synthesized by the semi-wet route using metal nitrate solutions and solid TiO_2 powder in a stoichiometric ratio. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) study of BCTO precursor powder and calcined ceramic showed the presence of alcoholic functional groups and the stretching band of Ti-O and Cu-O respectively. X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX) were employed to characterize the structure, surface morphology and purity of the sintered BCTO ceramic respectively. X-ray diffraction study confirmed the single phase formation of BCTO ceramic at1073 K. The average dimension of grains calculated by SEM and AFM was found to be in the range of 0.73 ±0.2 μm with clear grain boundaries. Magnetic property was investigated over a wide temperature range 2–300 K at a magnetic field of 7 tesla. The Curie temperature was calculated by zero field cooled(M~(ZFC)) and field cooled(M~(FC)) magnetization at 100 Oe applied field which was found to be 125 K. The influence of rolling at liquid nitrogen temperature and annealing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al 5083 alloy was studied in this paper. Cryorolled samples of Al 5083 show significant improvements in strength and hardness. The ultimate tensile strength increases up to 340 MPa and 390 MPa for the 30% and 50% cryorolled samples, respectively. The cryorolled samples, with 30% and 50% reduction, were subjected to Charpy impact testing at various temperatures from ?190℃ to 100℃. It is observed that increasing the percentage of reduction of samples during cryorolling has significant effect on decreasing impact toughness at all temperatures by increasing yield strength and decreasing ductility. Annealing of samples after cryorolling shows remarkable increment in impact toughness through recovery and recrystallization. The average grain size of the 50% cryorolled sample (14 μm) after annealing at 350℃ for 1 h is found to be finer than that of the 30% cryorolled sample (25 μm). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of fractured surfaces shows a large-size dimpled morphology, resembling the ductile fracture mechanism in the starting material and fibrous structure with very fine dimples in cryorolled samples corresponding to the brittle fracture mechanism. 相似文献
