Pyrolysis of cannabidiol. Structure elucidation of a major pyrolytic conversion product

Summary Pyrolysis of cannabidiol, one of the major constituents of Cannabis sativa, yields a mixture of components. Next to previously identified products, a major conversion product has now been isolated and identified. The unusual and stereospecific route of formation of this compound with altered chromophore is discussed.Acknowledgments. Short adrenergic neurons innervating the female urethra of the cat

Zusammenfassung Die adrenergische Innervation der weiblichen Urethra bei der Katze wird mit Hilfe fluoreszenzmikroskopischer Technik dargestellt. Adrenergische Ganglien in der proximalen Urethra bestreiten den Hauptanteil der urethralen adrenergischen Innervation (kurze Neurone). Ein Drittel der adrenergischen Bahnen stammen aus dem Nervus hypogastricus.

Summary The octapeptide Val⁵-Angiotensin II-Asp¹--amide is split into characteristic fragments by hydrogen peroxide, when complexed with Ni²⁺; this degradation does not occur with the Cu²⁺ complex, presumably because an active ternary peroxo complex cannot be formed.     

Einwirkung von N-Brom-succinimid aufΔ 4-3-Keto-steroide

Summary The bromination of ⁴-3-keto-steroids with the aid of N-bromo-succinimide takes place in 6-position, that is in allyl-position and not in-position to the keto group. By splitting off hydrogen bromide from these 6-bromo-compounds, ^4;6-3-keto-steroids are obtained in known manner.

Summary The synthesis and properties of the acetylated glucoside of phenylbutazon are described. The deacetylation of this enol-glucoside, even under neutral conditions, failed because of the lability of this compound.

Zusammenfassung Disparolon, als neue tumorhemmende Verbindung von Weibchen des Schwammspinners,Porthetria dispar L., wurde isoliert und als 7-Oxohexadec-cis-10-enol-(1) identifiziert und synthetisch dargestellt. Die Verbindung ist gegen Walker Karzinosarkom 256 in Ratten aktiv.     

Factors which influence normal values for serum lactic dehydrogenase in mice

Résumé Nous avons étudié, chez la souris normale, l'effet du sexe, de l'âge et de la constitution génétique sur l'activité du sérum LDH. Le seul résultat positif constaté est un rapport entre l'âge et la race. Nous avons établi la portée normale de l'activité du LDH dans cinq races de souris. Son augmentation n'est pas provoquée par une infection due au virus polyome, mais peut être mise en relation avec la constitution génétique de l'animal.
