Einwirkung von N-Brom-succinimid aufΔ 4-3-Keto-steroide

Summary The bromination of ⁴-3-keto-steroids with the aid of N-bromo-succinimide takes place in 6-position, that is in allyl-position and not in-position to the keto group. By splitting off hydrogen bromide from these 6-bromo-compounds, ^4;6-3-keto-steroids are obtained in known manner.

Asynchronous nested optimization algorithms and their parallel implementation

Large scale optimization problems can only be solved in an efficient way, if their special structure is taken as the basis of algorithm design. In this paper we consider a very broad class of large — scale problems with special structure, namely tree structured problems. We show how the exploitation of the structure leads to efficient decomposition algorithms and how it may be implemented in a parallel environment.

Bestimmung der optimalen Reizparameter bei Reizung des aszendierenden retikulären Systems

Summary For the initiation of an arousal reaction, the stimulation of the reticular activating system by square waves of frequencies varying from 50 to 400 c/s was studied. To evaluate the stimulation efficiency, the initial frequency of the rhinencephalic arousal reaction was used. The optimal stimulus frequency depends on the duration of the pulses. The optimal frequency was found to be 200 c/s at a pulse duration of 0.5 ms and 100 c/s at a pulse duration of 1.5 ms.     

Factors which influence normal values for serum lactic dehydrogenase in mice

Résumé Nous avons étudié, chez la souris normale, l'effet du sexe, de l'âge et de la constitution génétique sur l'activité du sérum LDH. Le seul résultat positif constaté est un rapport entre l'âge et la race. Nous avons établi la portée normale de l'activité du LDH dans cinq races de souris. Son augmentation n'est pas provoquée par une infection due au virus polyome, mais peut être mise en relation avec la constitution génétique de l'animal.     

Die Verstärkung der pressorischen Vasopressin-Reaktion durch 2-Mercaptoäthylguanidin bei der Ratte

Summary 2-mercaptoethylguanidin enhances the blood pressure responses to small doses of vasopressine in the rat. This potentiation is statistically significant. The increase of the vasopressine reaction after 2-mercaptoethylguanidin is not due to an indirect effect of vasopressine on the cardiovascular system.
