Synthesis of rhodotorucine A,the inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium toruloides

Summary The inducing factor of mating tube formation ofRhodosporidium turuloides, named rhodotorucine A (H-Tyr-Pro-Glu-Ile-Ser-Trp-Thr-Arg-Asn-Gly-Cys(S-farnesyl)-OH), has been synthesized to confirm the structure proposed for the natural lipopeptide. The synthetic S-farnesyl undecapeptide has identical Rf values on TLC using several different solvents, and also the same biological activity as the natural hormone.Acknowledgments. Lymphatic metastasis of tumour; persistent transport of cells

Summary A model of lymphatic metastasis established by injecting Walker rat carcinoma cells into the rat footpad was used to study the output of tumour cells from the footpad. The lymphatic efferent from the footpad was cannulated in a group of rats with advanced neoplasm; it was shown that the output of tumou cells was continuou over periods up to 90 min and ranged from 10²–10⁵ cells/min.Acknowledgment. Histochemical demonstration of primary catecholamines in pacinian corpuscles of the cat

Résumé En utilisant la méthode de fluorescence de Falck, on constate que les corpuscules de Vater-Pacini montrent la fluorescence caractéristique des catécholamines primaires. L'intensité de la fluorescence est plus marquée dans le corps central des corpuscules nerveuses, moins dans les lamelles et absente dans la fibre nerveuse.     

Mitogenic effect of sodium phenobarbital and rat liver arginase activity

Résumé Au cours de la régénération du foie normal des rats, on a constaté une augmentation — statistiquement significative — de l'activité arginasique dans la phase prémitotique. Chez des animaux traités par le phénobarbital, l'activité arginasique augmente encore davantage dans la phase prémitotique du foie régénéré.     

Anti-tumour activity of carbobenzoxy-l-asparagine

Résumé L'administration i.p. de la carbobenzoxy-l-asparagine a retardé la croissance des greffes s.c. d'un lymphosarcome de souris, sensitif à l'action de l'l-asparaginase. L'apparition des tumeurs a été retardée, la période de survie a été prolongée et le poids des tumeurs réduit d'une faÇon significative chez les animaux traités. Le mécanisme de l'inhibition des tumeurs cst considéré.
