Zr~(4+) and F~– co-doped TiO_2 with the formula of Ti_(0.97)Zr_(0.03)O_(1.98)F_(0.02) was facilely synthesized by a sol-gel template route.The crystal structure,morphology,composition,surface area,and conductivity were characterized by Raman spectroscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray analysis,scanning electron microscopy,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller measurements,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.The results demonstrate that Zr~(4+)and F~–homogeneously incorporated into TiO_2,forming solid solution with an anatase structure.Ti_(0.97)Zr_(0.03)O_(1.98)F_(0.02)shows outstanding electrochemical properties as Li-ion battery anode in comparison with Ti_(0.97)Zr_(0.03)O_2.In particular,upon 35-fold cycling at 1C-rate Zr~(4+)/F~–co-doped TiO_2delivers a reversible capacity of 163 mAh g~(–1),whereas Zr~(4+)-doped TiO_2gives only 34 mA h g~(–1).Additionally,Zr~(4+)/F~–co-doped TiO_2retains a capacity of 138 mA h g~(–1)during cycling even at 10 C.The enhance performance originates from improved conductivity of Zr~(4+)/F~–co-doped TiO_2material through generation of Ti~(3+)(serving as electron donors)into the crystal lattice and,possibly,due to F-doping blocked the anode surface from attack of HF formed as electrolyte decomposition product. 相似文献

Cystic fibrosis can be treated by potentiators, drugs that interact directly with the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) Cl? channel to increase its open probability. These substances likely target key conformational changes occurring during channel opening and closing, however, the molecular bases of these conformational changes, and their susceptibility to manipulation are poorly understood. We have used patch clamp recording to identify changes in the three-dimensional organization of the extracellularly accessible parts of the CFTR protein during channel opening and closing. State-dependent formation of both disulfide bonds and Cd2+ bridges occurred for pairs of cysteine side-chains introduced into the extreme extracellular ends of transmembrane helices (TMs) 1, 6, and 12. Between each of these three TMs, we found that both disulfide bonds and metal bridges formed preferentially or exclusively in the closed state and that these inter-TM cross-links stabilized the closed state. These results indicate that the extracellular ends of these TMs are close together when the channel is closed and that they separate from each other when the channel opens. These findings identify for the first time key conformational changes in the extracellular parts of the CFTR protein that can potentially be manipulated to control channel activity. 相似文献

Effector proteins are key virulence factors of pathogenic bacteria that target and subvert the functions of essential host defense mechanisms. Typically, these proteins are delivered into infected host cells via the type III secretion system (T3SS). Recently, however, several effector proteins have been found to enter host cells in a T3SS-independent manner thereby widening the potential range of these virulence factors. Prototypes of such bacteria-derived cell-penetrating effectors (CPEs) are the Yersinia enterocolitica-derived YopM as well as the Salmonella typhimurium effector SspH1. Here, we investigated specifically the group of bacterial LPX effector proteins comprising the Shigella IpaH proteins, which constitute a subtype of the leucine-rich repeat protein family and share significant homologies in sequence and structure. With particular emphasis on the Shigella-effector IpaH9.8, uptake into eukaryotic cell lines was shown. Recombinant IpaH9.8 (rIpaH9.8) is internalized via endocytic mechanisms and follows the endo-lysosomal pathway before escaping into the cytosol. The N-terminal alpha-helical domain of IpaH9.8 was identified as the protein transduction domain required for its CPE ability as well as for being able to deliver other proteinaceous cargo. rIpaH9.8 is functional as an ubiquitin E3 ligase and targets NEMO for poly-ubiquitination upon cell penetration. Strikingly, we could also detect other recombinant LPX effector proteins from Shigella and Salmonella intracellularly when applied to eukaryotic cells. In this study, we provide further evidence for the general concept of T3SS-independent translocation by identifying novel cell-penetrating features of these LPX effectors revealing an abundant species-spanning family of CPE. 相似文献

We extract information on relative shopping interest from Google search volume and provide a genuine and economically meaningful approach to directly incorporate these data into a portfolio optimization technique. By generating a firm ranking based on a Google search volume metric, we can predict future sales and thus generate excess returns in a portfolio exercise. The higher the (shopping) search volume for a firm, the higher we rank the company in the optimization process. For a sample of firms in the fashion industry, our results demonstrate that shopping interest exhibits predictive content that can be exploited in a real‐time portfolio strategy yielding robust alphas around 5.5%. 相似文献
