Summary The concentration of high molecular weight kininogen, measured in human tissue homogenates, was 2–3 times higher in kidneys, adrenals and thyroid than in homogenates of lung, heart, liver and spleen. Summary The fundamental laws of photochemistry and the essential results of experimental research on ultraweak cell radiation are presented. By comparing all the facts it can be concluded that the phenomena discussed may arise from a variety of possible reactions and sources. Recombination reactions of certain radicals actually do release sufficient energy to generate UV-photons of the intensity under consideration. On the other hand, stimulated emission cannot be excluded in view of the distinct deviation of the radiation field from thermal equilibrium. There exist, however, various other candidates, such as direct emitters like flavins, indoles, porphyrins, carbonyl derivatives and aromatic compounds, and molecular oxygen and its various species, as well as collective molecular interactions, e.g. dimole or exciplex transitions, triplet-triplet annihilation, collective hydrolysis, electric field effects in membranes, etc.Careful biochemical and biophysical experiments are still necessary to find answers to all the questions that remain; not only individual problems have to be solved, but it is important to keep in mind the interrelationships between certain reactions. 相似文献

Summary The intermediates of the purine nucleotide cycle (PNC) stimulated pyruvate oxidation by isolated skeletal muscle mitochondria in a system containing mitochondria and cytosol from rat skeletal muscle. Summary Tuftsin has marked analgesic activity but is less potent than D-Arg3-tuftsin. The absence of an antagonistic effect of naloxone on tuftsin and its analogue suggests that these substances do not act on opiate receptors. Effect of doses of the X-ray radiation from 0 to 400 Gy upon granular cornstarch and dextrins (British gums, BG) thermally generated from it at 230--300℃ was recognized with quantitative EPR and IR absorption spectroscopy, molecular mass distribution in the depolymerization products, Scanning Electron Microscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. Fractal analysis of the profiles of molecular mass distribution showed that the depolymerization involved debranching of amylopectin. Roasting of cornstarch produced BG which differed in concentration and EPR parameters of stable free radicals from BG generated by X-ray radiation. Two types of stable free radicals, with Gaussian and Lorentzian shapes of EPR signals, were recognized. The shapes of the signals and temperature dependence on free radical intensity indicated exchanging interactions of the antiferromagnetic type, causing partial quenching of the spins at-196℃(77K). Upon X-ray irradiation, new radicals were generated, the number and stability of which strongly depended on the types of radicals present before irradiation. These radicals slowly ceased because of a repolymerization of BG on storage. 相似文献

To explore the extent of embeddability of Leibnizian infinitesimal calculus in first-order logic (FOL) and modern frameworks, we propose to set aside ontological issues and focus on procedural questions. This would enable an account of Leibnizian procedures in a framework limited to FOL with a small number of additional ingredients such as the relation of infinite proximity. If, as we argue here, first order logic is indeed suitable for developing modern proxies for the inferential moves found in Leibnizian infinitesimal calculus, then modern infinitesimal frameworks are more appropriate to interpreting Leibnizian infinitesimal calculus than modern Weierstrassian ones. 相似文献
