Alkaloids ofBerberis laurina Billb. II. Two new phenolic biscoclaurine alkaloids

Zusammenfassung Die Isolierung von zwei neuen dauricinartigen AlkaloÏden, Espinin and Espinidin, ausBerberis laurina, und deren Strukturaufklärung durch Spektroskopie und Degradation werden beschrieben.     

Photoperiod manipulation to control diapause in the pink bollworm,Pectinophora gossypiella

Zusammenfassung Im 12-h Kurztag gehaltenePectinophora gossypiella gehen zu 78% in Diapause. Zusätzlich applizierte, einstÜndige Perioden mit 15 Lichtpulsen von je 1 min Dauer reduzieren die Diapauserate. Die besten Resultate ergeben 2 Pulsperioden, je 1,5 h vor und nach der Hellphase appliziert.     

Avilamycin

Summary A strain ofStreptomyces viridochromogenes produced a new crystalline antibiotic, Avilamycin, related to but not identical with Curamycin and Exfoliatin. Avilamycin, C₆₃H₉₄O₃₅Cl₂, gave on solvolytic degradation the following products: dichloroisoeverninic acid, 2-deoxy-d-rhamnose, 2,6-di-O-methylmannose, 4-O-methylfucose,l-lyxose and 3,5-diacetoxy--caprolactone.     

About the transformation of the interstitium in the ovary of mammals and women during the age of prepuberty

Résumé Ont été examinés 427 ovaires de cobayes et de jeunes filles. L'ovaire, chez le cobaye de 30 jours de la vie postnatale et chez la jeune fille âgée de 10 ans, est caractérisé par des follicules en croissance de grandeur presque égale (isofolliculie) et par la disparition presque complète de l'activité enzymatique de l'interstitium.
