Effect of Nano-SiC and Nano-Si Doping on Critical Current Density of MgB_2

The discovery of superconductivity in magnesium diboride (MgB2) has opened up a new field in materials science research. It offers a possibility of a new class of high performance superconducting materials for practical applications because of the relatively low cost of fabrication, high critical current densities (Jc) and fields, large coherence length, absence of weak links, higher Tc(TC = 39K) compared with Nb3Sn and Nb-Ti alloys (two or four times that of Nb,,Sn and Nb-Ti alloys). However, the weak flux pinning in the magnetic field remains a major challenge. This paper reports the most interesting results on nanomaterial (SiC and Si) doping in magnesium diboride. The high density of nano-scale defects introduced by doping is responsible for the enhanced pinning. The fabrication method, critical current density, microstructures, flux pinning and cost for magnesium diboride bulks, wires and tapes are also discussed. Effects of insulin hypoglycaemia on the adrenal medulla of the hamster

Résumé Pendant l'hypoglycémie insulinique (4 U/100 g), le hamster maintenu a 19°C présente une augmentation de l'adrénaline et de la noradrénaline plasmatiques, ainsi qu'une réduction de ces deux catécholamines dans les surrénales. Maintenu à 26°C, l'hypoglycémie se produit aussi bien avec 4 U/100 g d'insuline mais il n'y a pas de changements de l'adrénaline et noradrénaline du plasma et des surrénales. Pour obtenir des modifications, il est nécessaire d'augmenter la dose d'insuline à 8 U/100 g. En conclusion, la température extérieure a une influence marquée sur la réponse médullo-surrénale de l'hypoglycémie insulinique.     

On the regulatory properties of a halophilic malic enzyme fromHalobacterium cutirubrum

Summary The NADP-linked malic enzyme fromHalobacterium cutirubrum is strongly inhibited by acetyl-CoA and NADH, and rather weakly inhibited by oxaloacetate and glyoxylate, in the presence of very high KCl concentrations (3,M), considered physiological for the extremely halophilic bacteria.This work was supported by grants from the consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas de la República Argentina, and the Consejo de Investigaciones de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario. An Evolutionary Real-Time 3D Route Planner for Aircraft

Abstract: A novel evolutionary route planner for aircraft is proposed in this paper. In the new planner, individual candi-dates are evaluated with respect to the workspace, thus the computation of the configuration space is not required. By usingproblem-specific chromosome structure and genetic operators, the routes are generated in real time, with different missionconstraints such as minimum route leg length and flying altitude, maximum turning angle, maximum climbing/diving an-gle and route distance constraint taken into account.

Zusammenfassung Die interne-Bestrahlung in kleinen Dosen vergrössert den 5-Hydroxytryptamin-Inhalt des zentralen Nervensystems der Ratte: Gehirnrinde, Dyencephalus, Hypothalamus, Geruchbulbe, Mittelhirn und Rückenmark. Bei Experimenten mit höheren Dosen (über 500 rad) sinkt der 5-Hydroxytryptamin-Gehalt.
