Summary In normal rats, prostaglandin F₂ is a potent vasoconstrictor. The corresponding systemic hypertension is progressively attenuated by tachyphylaxis, revealing a longlasting fall of blood pressure. Tachyphylaxis is accelerated by previous injection of arachidonic acid and bradykinin. The vasodepressive activity of PGF₂ is inhibited by indomethacin.

Influence of cyclic nucleotides on protein synthesis in vascular smooth muscle

Summary The incorporation of leucice-¹⁴C into protein in bovine mesenteric arteries was augmented by cyclic GMP (10^–3 M) and decreased by cyclic AMP (10^–3 M). There was no effect of 5 AMP (10^–3 M). The phosphodiesterase inhibiting drugs theophylline (10^–3 M) and papaverine (5×10^–5 g/ml) both decreased the leucine-¹⁴C incorporation.We are indebted to Mrs.Lena Burlin for hear assistance. Ecdysone 20-hydroxylase from the midgut of the tobacco hornworm (Manduca sexta L.)

Summary An ecdysone 20-hydroxylase enzyme system that converts -ecdysone to 20-hydroxyecdysone was prepared from the midgut of the tobacco hornworm prepupa. This partially purified enzyme is NADPH dependent and is localized in the mitochondrial fraction of the midgut tissue.     

Effect of air ionization on blood serotonin in vitro

Summary The effect of negative and positive air ionisation on siliconized blood serotonin was studied in vitro. The experiments showed that within 10 min positive ionisation increased serotonin levels in total blood (+40%), plasma (+90%), erythrocytes (+50%) and thrombocytes (+200%). On the other hand, negative ionization (10 min) lowered the serotonin content of total blood (–30%), plasma (–42.5%), erythrocytes (–41.7%) and thrombocytes (–72.3%), thus confirming the Krueger Effect in vitro.This research was generously supported by a grant from the Joint Research Fund of the Hebrew University and Hadassah, and Dr. and Mrs.Leonard Appleby of Palmbeach, Florida.Acknowledgment: Our thanks are due to Mr.B. Effect of 723-1723-1723-1on ethanol withdrawal in mice

Summary ⁹ (10 mg/kg, i.p.) administered to mice immediately after withdrawal from a 3-day exposure to ethanol vapor was found to intensify withdrawal reactions. No effect was seen when ⁹ was administered chronically during the exposure to ethanol.     

Octopamine,dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria

Summary The octopamine, dopamine and noradrenaline content of the brain of the locust,Schistocerca gregaria has been determined using sensitive radiochemical-enzymatic assays. Octopamine and dopamine are present in high concentration but the noradrenaline content is only 1/25 that of octopamine. Both reserpine and fusaric acid (a dopamine--hydroxylase inhibitor) produce a significant depletion of the octopamine stores.The author is a M.R.C. of Canada Fellow. Thanks are due to Drs.A. A. Summary - and -ecdysone were synthesized from labelled cholesterol by premolt crayfish in vivo and by their Y-organs in vitro.     

RNA synthesis in α-amanitin-poisoned rats: Prevention of recovery by inhibition of protein synthesis

Summary The treatment with cycloheximide of rats previously poisoned with -amanitin hinders the recovery of RNA synthesis observed in the liver of rats treated with -amanitin alone. The recovery of RNA synthesis can be ascribed to the capability of poisoned rats to synthesize new RNA-polymerase II.Acknowledgments: We thank ProfessorT. Wieland for the generous gift of -amanitin. 基于主成分分析的核Fisher判别方法在油水识别中的应用

根据测井数据结构复杂和交集严重的特点,将主成分分析思想应用到剔除奇异点和寻找两类样本的交集中,并在交集中应用核Fisher判别方法,进行油水判别,弥补了Fisher线性判别方法的不足.通过将主成分分析和核Fisher判别方法这两种理论有机的结合起来,提高了利用测井数据识别油水层的鉴别能力,实际应用中证明了本方法的实用性和有效性.     

粉末高温合金平衡相析出行为的热力学对比

利用热力学平衡相计算方法及相应的高温合金数据库对René95,Rene88DT和эп741нп三种合金在平衡相析出温度范围和析出量以及之间的关联性进行了系统的热力学计算对比分析.结果表明:三种粉末高温合金的平衡相种类基本相同,主要平衡相为γ,γ'和碳化物M23C6,MC,M6C.René95合金中的碳化物含量要高于其他两种合金.3п741нп有着较高的γ'相析出温度和较大的析出量.随温度降低,Co和Nb从γ'相中析出,在其周围富集,其中3п741нп合金中尤为明显.合金元素的偏聚度也和合金的初熔点与终熔点之差的大小有关,其熔解区间越大即初熔点和终熔点之差越大,合金元素的偏聚度越大.
