Biochemical and environmental perspectives on nitrogen metabolism in fishes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Catabolism of nitrogen-containing substances makes a major contribution to the oxidative metabolism in teleostean fishes. In this review, we focus on aspects of the formation, transport, detoxification and excretion of the two most important nitrogenous products of fishes: ammonia (NH3 plus NH 4 + ) and urea. While NH 4 + makes up the bulk of nitrogenous waste, it is in equilibrium with the highly toxic NH3. Ammonia is generated in the liver and excreted through branchial, surface and renal routes. Innocuous urea is derived through hepatic uricolysis or argininolysis and voided through kidney, gill, skin or faeces. Under conditions hampering the release of ammonia, such as exposure to exogenous ammonia, water limitation, or alkaline conditions, some teleosts detoxify ammonia through synthesis of urea by the ornithine-urea cycle in liver. Ammonia and possibly alanine are the prevalent vehicles of internal nitrogen transport. Glutamine is immaterial to interorgan nitrogen transport in fishes, but plays a transient role in the detoxification of ammonia by brain glutamine synthetase.  相似文献

Summary Total phosphorus, inorganic phosphate, and phospholipids were measured in bile of rats and guinea pigs during choleresis and cholestasis produced by taurocholate and taurolithocholate, respectively. Under either experimental condition, total biliary phosphorus concentrations increased significantly in both species, due primarily to an increase in inorganic phosphate. These studies indicate that, if total phosphorus is taken as an estimate of biliary phospholipid concentration, correction for inorganic phosphate is essential under conditions associated with changes in bile secretory function.This work was supported by grant HD-17556 from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Es wird festgestellt, dass Dimethyltryptamin — bei normalen Versuchspersonen — eine dem Meskalin und dem LSD-25 ähnliche psychotische Wirkung hat. Der durch Dimethyltryptamin induzierte Zustand beginnt schon 3–5 min nach Injektion und verschwindet bereits nach 1 h. Der Urin der Versuchspersonen wurde papier-chromatographisch und kolorimetrisch auf Indolverbindungen geprüft. 3-Indolylessigsäure wird als hauptsächlichstes Abbauprodukt des Dimethyltryptamins gefunden, wovon der grösste Teil in alkali-labiler Form gebunden ist. Die Menge der ausgeschiedenen 5-Hydroxy-indolylessigsäure ist nach dem Versuch wesentlich grösser als vorher. Die Stoffwechselzusammenhänge mit dem psychotischen Zustand werden diskutiert.  相似文献

功能晶体材料作为光、声、电等转换的重要介质,已经被广泛应用于能源、信息、航空航天等高新技术领域,是目前国际材料科学与工程学科发展的热点和前沿课题.结晶过程是制备功能材料的核心环节,结晶习性直接影响材料的光、电、磁、催化等功能特性.在无机材料的结晶过程中,晶体组成在微观上经历了从自由态离子到结晶态固体的相变过程.可以借助晶体组成离子的电负性及基团微观对称性的变化,研究结晶过程中聚集体的形成和结构演变规律.利用分子振动光谱能够从分子尺度上揭示非线性光学晶体材料在水溶液结晶过程中结晶学结构的形成过程,克服了传统原位观测手段中缺乏对非长程有序结构的确定.利用结晶生长的化学键合理论从热力学和动力学两个方面指导大块晶体的生长实践,合理调控晶体的生长表/界面热力学和动力学.将结晶生长的化学键合理论应用到大尺寸晶体提拉生长参数的设计和优化,成功搭建了大尺寸晶体智能生长系统,并成功生长了φ2″蓝宝石晶体、φ3″YAG晶体和φ4″铌酸锂晶体.  相似文献

Summary Male Sprague-Dawley rats injected with 2.0 g/kg of ethanol and analyzed 1 h later at 8 specific times of the day showed diurnal rhythms for alcohol concentrations in the blood, urine, brain and liver tissues. The circadian fluctuation noted for the concentrations of blood and tissue ethanol might indicate a diurnal variation in the enzymatic metabolism of ethanol.Supported by a grant from the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration.  相似文献

Resumen Los resultados obtenidos han indicado que el incremento del consumo de oxígeno en el hipotálamo anterior y posterior de los animales hipofisectomizados desaparece si estos animales son castrados simultaneamente con la hipofisectomía. Se discute la importancia de la presencia del testículo en la elevación de la actividad metabólica del hipotálamo luego de la hipofisectomía.

The metabolism of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in the CNS was investigated in four kinds of morphologically different ataxic mice; reeler, staggerer, weaver and Purkinje cell degeneration mutants, and in hypocerebellar mice experimentally produced by injection of cytosine arabinoside. 5-HT and 5-hydroxyidoleacetic acid concentrations and tryptophan hydroxylase (TrpOH) activity were measured in the cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem, respectively. TrpOH activity was significantly reduced only in the reeler mouse. The enhancements of the cerebellar 5-HT metabolism observed in the ataxic mice other than the reeler were supposed to be pseudo-enhancements subsequent to the cerebellar hypoplasia.  相似文献
