Copper acetate as an accelerator in mouse skin carcinogenesis by 9,10-dimethyl-1,2-benzanthracene

Résumé Une solution de l'oxyacétate de cuivre n'est pas cancérigène pour la peau de la souris blanche. L'acétate n'est ni un initiator ni un promoter pour la cancérisation par 9,10-diméthyl-1,2-benzanthracène. Cependant, le traitement des animaux avec l'acétate pendant 10 semaines puis avec l'hydrocarbure augmente la production des tumeurs.     

Uptake of35S-Sulphate in dimethylbenzanthracene painted mouse skin

Zusammenfassung Die Synthese von Sulfomucopolysacchariden wurde durch den Einbau von³⁵S-Sulfat in die Haut weiblicher Mäuse nach DMBA-Behandlung verfolgt. Es wurde eine signifikante Steigerung der Aufnahme von³⁵S-Sulfat in den karzinogen behandelten Tieren beobachtet.     

Biochemical changes in mango after infection withRhizoctonia bataticola

Summary Rhizoctonia bataticola is responsible for the spoilage of mango fruits (Mangifera india) during post-harvest preservation and storage. Culture ofR. bataticola exhibited significant pectinase and cellulase activity. InRhizoctonia-infected fruits an increase of protease and cellulase activity, and a decrease in certain enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism, were observed in comparison to healthy fruits.     

Fluorescent mast cell in precancerous mouse skin

Résumé L'application d'un hydrocarbure cancérigène à la peau de la souris est suivie d'une mastocytose très nette qui évolue dans le tissu conjonctif. Après traitement au formaldéhyde d'une coupe gelée, quelques mastocytes prennent au microscope à fluorescence une couleur brun doré. Par essai direct et par chromatographie sur papier, on a constaté que la substance fluorescente est le dérivé-carboline de la 5-hydroxy-tryptamine.

Summary Goat spermatozoal hyaluronidase and acrosin show significantly increased activities during transition from caput to cauda epididymis. Mitotic activity of mast cells in precancerous mouse skin

Résumé En utilisant le 7, 12-diméthylbenza()nthracène (DMBA) on a provoqué un papillome dans la peau de la souris. On observe de nombreuses figures mitotiques dans les mastocytes du papillome formé. Le coefficient mitotique est de 0,6–0,7%; l'injection de colchicine augmente sa valeur.     

Sex-dependent action of prenatal fractionated X-irradiation in the mouse. Biochemical findings

Summary X-Irradiation of pregnant NMRI-mice on gestational days 11–13 with 3×1.05 Gy increased postnatal mortality of the female offspring only. Weights, protein content and acetylcholinesterase, as well as Na, K-ATPase activities in the brains of all treated offspring, were changed. Mast-cell reaction in precancerous mouse skin: An immunological response?

Summary The promotion phase of carcinogenesis in mouse skin is accompanied by a mast-cell reaction in the upper dermis. Evidence is presented which suggests that this may be an immunological response, whereby distant lymphocytes migrate to the area and, in the presence of young fibroblasts, become transformed into tissue mast cells.     

Mast cells,tryptophan and 5-hydroxytryptamine in precancerous mouse skin

Zusammenfassung Nach Formaldehydfixation und Vorbehandlung mit dem Carcinogen DMBA oder Äthylphenylpropiolat (das nicht cancerogen oder co-cancerogen wirkt) wird in der Epidermis der Maus eine Tryptophanbedingte blaue Fluoreszenz gefunden. Die gelbe Fluoreszenz in den Mastzellen beruht auf 5-HT.     

Effect of topically applied phenobarbital on O-dealkylase activity in mouse skin

Summary Topical application of phenobarbital to mice produces an increase in cutaneous microsomal proteins and apparently also of cytochrome P450, but results in a kinetically noncompetitive inhibition of p-nitrophenethole O-dealkylase activity in preparations of 10,000×g supernatant from skin.     

Biochemical changes of brain and liver in neonatal offspring of rats fed monosodium-l-glutamate

Zusammenfassung Nachweis, dass die Ernährung von Ratten mit Monosodiuml-Glutamat (MSG) im Laufe der ersten 21 Tage nach der Geburt keinen Einfluss auf die Entwicklung sowie auf das Körper-, Gehirn- und Lebergewicht hatte. Diätetisches MSG hatte ausserdem keinen Effekt auf Protein, Aspartat und Glutamat im Gehirn.
