Histochemical demonstration of uridine diphosphate glucose dehydrogenase

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Methode zur histochemischen Lokalisation der Aktivität von DPN-spezifischer UDPG-Dehydrogenase beschrieben. Das Wasserstoff übertragende System vom reduzierten Coenzym zuN-Thiazol-substituiertem Monotetrazol (Reduktionsindikator) bestand in der endogenen Menadionreduktase. Stärkste UDPG-Dehydrogenaseaktivität fand sich in Leberepithelien und proximalen Nierentubuli ausgewachsener Tiere (Ratte, Maus).     

Incorporation of uridine diphospho-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine in the resting sporangium wall ofSynchytrium endobioticum

Summary The microfibrils that constitute the walls ofSynchytrium endobioticum resting sporangia are laid down at the periphery of developing walls and are packed in discrete orientation. Incorporation of uridine diphospho-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, a precursor of chitin, is restricted to the periphery of the developing wall of the resting sporangium.     

Presence of a specific uridine 5'-monophosphate pyrophosphorylase in baker's yeast.

Uridine 5'-monophosphate pyrophosphorylase was found to be present in baker's yeast. The enzyme preparation, purified about 30-fold, shows a strict specificity toward uracil and requires Mg++ for its activity.

Riassunto Nel midollo umano normale, parallelamente alla differenziazione cellulare delle linee mieloide ed eritroide, si osserva, per l'incorporazione dell'uridina nell'ARN, una diminuzione maggiore di quella della fissazione dell'actinomicina-D alla cromatina.

Zusammenfassung Zellen der Kückenaorta zeigten, dass der Einbau von H³-behandeltem Uridin oder Thymidin in linearem Verhältnis zur Zeitdauer der Stoffeinwirkung stand. Sekundäre, ebenso alle weiteren Zellkulturen ergaben markante Zunahme der linearen Pyrimidinaufnahme, eine Inkorporation, die mit zunehmender Zellgrösse und höherem Stoffwechsel zusammenhängt.

Tritiated uridine incorporation in ovarian cells of Homoptera Auchenorhyncha insect Ulopa reticulata Fab. (Ulopidae)]

The tritiated Uridine incorporation in the acrotrophic ovary of Ulopa reticulata shows that there are two different organs for the RNA of the ovocyte cytoplasm : the ovocyte nucleus, and the trophic cells (by way of the trophic cords).     

Alleviation of the toxicity of actinomycin D by uridine and thymidine on the morphogenesis of chick embryos cultivated in vitro

Zusammenfassung Untersuchung über die Wirkung von Actinomycin D auf Primitivstreifen- und Entwicklungsstadien der Kopfregion bei Hühnerembryonen in vitro: Anormale Entwicklung des Zentralnervensystems, der Somiten und des Herzens; diese Effekter konnten durch Thymidin oder Uridin zum Teil aufgehoben werden.

Incorporation of tritiated uridine during pachytene and diplotene stages in the oocytes of the Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica)

Summary Incorporation of³H-uridine was studied during pachytene and diplotene stages of quail oocytes. No labelling could be detected during early pachytene. During advanced and late pachytene, labelling simultaneously appeared on the macrochromosomes and on certain michromosomes in the zone where they emerge from the chromocentric surface periphery. The latter localization corresponds to the region of ribosomal RNA synthesis. At diplotene the same localizations were labelled with a considerably increased intensity.
