Lipid accumulation by a cellulolytic mold, Aspergillus niger, was studied. The amount of lipid accumulated ranged from 13.6-16.6% on various carbon sources, namely glucose, xylose, avicel (microcrystalline cellulose) and bagasse (a natural lignocellulosic substrate). Neutral lipids, phospholipids and glycolipids of the mycelia varied from 41.0-46.2%, 34.9-38.4% and 18.7-22.6% of total lipids, respectively. Unsaturated fatty acids comprised around 80% of total fatty materials with linoleic and oleic acid predominating. Of the four nitrogen sources tested, NH4Cl was the best source for lipid synthesis from cellulose (bagasse). Optimum temperature range for growth and lipid synthesis was 25-30 degrees C.  相似文献

Studies with light of the visible range had shown that light plays significant role in the biosynthesis and accumulation of citric acid in Aspergillus niger. Accumulation of 14C-labelled carbon atoms in alpha-ketoglutaric, isocitric, succinic and glycolic acids in the cultures grown under illumination suggest a probable 'shunt-metabolism' leading to the succinate-alpha-ketoglutarate-isocitrate (SKI) cycle. This shunt metabolism minimizes the accumulation of citric acid in cultures due to depletion of intermediates.  相似文献

Summary AnAspergillus niger mutant strain (hpp) produces an average of 4.1% of conidiophores with phialide proliferations. Increased frequency of proliferations could be induced on all studied strains by growth on potato dextrose agar. The characteristic is recessive and seems to be due to a pleiotropic effect of the mutation for olive conidia color.Acknowledgments. Zusammenfassung In Gegenwart des exfolierten Tonminerals Vermikulit wird die Zitronensäurebildung durchAspergillus niger besonders stimuliert. Dabei wird die Induktionsphase verkürzt sowie die gesamte Gärgeschwindigkeit im messbaren Bereich der Zitronensäurebildungsphase erhöht. Résumé Une activité considérable de la 3,4-dihydroxyphénylealanine (DOPA) décarboxylase a été démontrée chez un transplantable mélanome malin du hamster. Après l'injection intrapéritonéale du précurseur de la dopamine, l'amine nouveau-formée était trouvée dans toutes les tumeurs. L'inhibition de la DOPA décarboxylase par traitement des hamsters avec α-méthyle-DOPA n'a pas influé sur le progrès des tumeurs.

14 out of 22 fungal isolates of A. niger from market foods and foodstuffs were toxigenic to weanling rats. Approximately 2/3 of these cultures were highly toxigenic. Histopathologic changes were observed mostly in kidney with necrosis of the tubular epithelium and to a less extent in liver with centrolobular necrosis of the hepatic cells.  相似文献

Summary The method is based on the assumption that extracellular amylase, which is produced by strains ofAspergillus niger in liquid culture, hydrolyses the starch in the media and brings about a corresponding decrease in the turbidity of the media. Mutant strains which produced different quantities of amylase exhibited different degrees of decrease in turbidity of the media. The results showed that a greater degree of decrease in turbidity was observed for a higher quantity of amylase produced.  相似文献
