Nella blastula non esiste una differenza di attività fra metà animale e vegetativa, quando si prenda come riferimento l'azoto citoplasmatico. Nella giovane gastrula il territorio presuntivo della corda e del sistema nervoso mostra una attività più elevata della epidermide presuntiva.

Zusammenfassung Das Blastem, welches sich zur freien, hinteren Gliedmassenmuskulatur entwickelt, stammt bei Anuren von parietalem Mesoderm und von Ursegmenten ab. Das Vorderbein-Mesoderm dagegen ist ausschliesslich parietal. Diese Feststellungen werden durch Befunde an transplantierten Beinknospen und durch Markierungsversuche mit Kohlepartikeln gestützt.Die Brauchbarkeit des Kohlemarkierungs-Verfahrens wurde speziell in ihrer Anwendung auf die Feststellung der Wanderrouten von Muskelzellen geprüft.     

The problem of detecting a free glutamate decrease in the dorsal sensory neuron following dorsal root crush

Summary Dorsal root crush results in a highly significant decrease in the free glutamate/total free amino acid concentration ratio over an extended time period. Résumé Une analyse du développement des yeux faite sur de petits fragments de l'ébauche neurale («neural plate») a montré que la région du futur prosencéphale se comporte comme unchamp morphogénétique. Bien que cette région ne soit plus «équipotentielle» même dans la neurula jeune, les propriétés du champ persistent pendant toute la neurulation.     

The effect of concanavalin-A on the reaggregation of cells dissociated from Xenopus laevis early embryos

Summary The effects of concanavalin-A on the reaggregation and sorting of cells from Xenopus laevis early embroys have been studied. The results suggest that at high concentrations, concanavalin-A can prevent reaggregation.

Zusammenfassung Nach Verabreichung von 2-Aminoacetophenon an Ratten wurde 2-Amino-3-hydroxyacetophenon aus dem Urin isoliert und identifiziert. In-vitro-Untersuchungen haben gezeigt, dass Lebermikrosomen 2-Aminoacetophenon zu 2-Amino-3-hydroxyacetophenon hydroxylieren.     

Glucose formation from methylglyoxal in hepatocytes from streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice: the effect of insulin

Acetol and methylglyoxal are intermediates of the intrahepatic metabolism of acetone leading to pyruvate formation. In hepatocytes prepared from fasted streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice, net glucose production could be measured from methylglyoxal but not from acetone or acetol. Insulin increased glucose formation from methylglyoxal in a concentration-dependent manner, whereas it was ineffective when pyruvate was used as substrate. Drug oxidation, as evidenced byp-aminophenol formation from aniline, was enhanced by methylglyoxal, and insulin proved to be stimulatory in this case as well. It is concluded that insulin might be involved in the regulation of glucose formation from methylglyoxal, but its mode of action is not yet clear.

Zusammenfassung Die Kinetik der Induktion von Plaques in Einschichtenzellkulturen wurde bei 20° und 36°C bestimmt. Es nimmt die Zahl der durch RNS induzierten Plaques in den ersten 8 bis 10 min nach Kulturbeimpfung schnell und dann allmählich langsamer zu. Die möglichen Ursachen dieses Verhaltens werden diskutiert.     

The formation of flavin-adenine dinucleotide in liver cells prepared from normal and alloxan diabetic rats

Riassunto Viene studiata la formazione del flavin-adenin dinucleotide (FAD) da parte di cellule di fegato di animali normali e diabetici per allossana a partire da flavin mononucleotide (FMN).Le cellule dell'animale normale possono sintetizzare il FAD direttamente dal FMN, mentre le cellule dell'animale diabetico possono effettuare questa sintesi dal FMN, solo se viene aggiunto anche ATP.Tale sintesi è possibile solo se viene conservata l'integrità cellulare. Viene descritto un procedimento per la preparazione delle cellule isolate di fegato.
