The inhibitory effect of four flavonoid compounds on virus multiplication and their influence on the intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) level were studied in cell cultures. Quercetin and quercitrin reduced the yields of Human (alpha) herpesvirus 1 (HSV-1) and Suid (alpha) herpesvirus 1 (pseudorabies virus), but hesperidin and rutin had no effect. Further, quercetin and quercitrin elevated the intracellular level of cAMP, whereas hesperidin and rutin did not alter the cAMP level. Both antiviral activity and cAMP-enhancing effect were dependent on the concentrations of the flavonoids, and these effects turned out to be parallel. This study suggests that a relation exists between the antiviral effect and the cAMP-enhancing activity of flavonoids.  相似文献

Résumé L'arrêt de la métaphase se produit dans les cellules de HeLa S-3 au contact d'un milieu de tonicité accrue (>165 mM). L'accumulation optimale intervient à 277 mM lorsque du NaCl a été utilisé pour augmenter l'influence du milieu. Les effets de l'usage d'autres sels et d'autres types de cellules sont décrits. La dilution du milieu à 165 mM donne lieu à un arrêt synchrone du processus de la mitose dans les cellules et assure la conservation d'un bon synchronisme au cours de la division cellulaire suivante.  相似文献

Summary This study is based on 100 consecutive germ cell tumors of the gonads, received during a 5-year period. Benign teratomas, with totipotent differentiation are the commonest ovarian germ cell tumors, whereas the nullipotent germinomas from the bulk of the testicular tumors. Differentiation in the rapidly proliferating testicular teratomas, occurs in the form of embryoid bodies and organoid structures. From an analysis of the germ cell tumors it is evident that the ovum confers differentiating functions on the zygote, while the spermatozoon confers functions of organization and proliferation. This difference in the behavior of the 2 germ cells is due to local feedbacks within the cortical and medullary zones of the gonads.Acknowledgments. I wish to thank Dr S. K.
