As one of the four important communication skills,speaking has long been neglected in the language teaching,while oral English teaching has always been the weak points in college English education.Since China began to reform and open the door to the outside world,oral English becomes more and more important.However,the traditional oral English education failed to meet the demand of social development,for many graduates couldn’t communicate in English smoothly.This is due to the inappropriateness of traditional oral English education.The thesis is to discuss the present condition of Chinese students in oral classroom and sets up a new teaching model.In this part the new model is discussed in detail from the perspective of students,teaching materials,teacher,and teaching method.  相似文献

In modern times,many students think English grammar is complex and boring,they learn it just for getting higher scores in English examination.Also most of the English teachers use the traditional teaching method to teach the students and let them control the grammar points rigidly,which makes the students feel the grammar is more difficult and complex.Chinese teachers and students tend to put emphasis on explicit curriculum.Teacher’s teaching methods and how the students to study grammar and other factors all restrict the development of hidden curriculum.In fact it can be mastered easily if we combine it with the exploration of hidden curriculum.By this way they can become fond of it little by little and they can find that their ability is greatly improved,they can benefit a lot in every aspect at last.Here I will state it in details about how to explore the hidden curriculum through English grammar teaching.  相似文献

Reading is the basic way for learners to study English,to obtain various information as well as knowledge,and to improve the proficiency of understanding and expressing.English newspaper reading,owing to its own characteristics,will make up for the shortcomings of conventional textbooks at quite a high level.The primary goal of this research is to investigate the general situation of English newspaper reading among college students,their attitudes toward the teaching of English newspaper reading and their problems in reading newspapers by conducting a questionnaire among non-English majors.Finally,it suggests a reasonable method of English newspaper learning based on the problems this questionnaire indicates.  相似文献

Technical college students often commit different oral errors in their English learning. The type of students’spoken English errors is analyzed in this paper and the common errors are classified into four groups: phonological errors, lexical errors, grammatical errors and pragmatic errors. The compliance with coding standards is becoming an evaluating index for a software engineer's teamwork capability or international cooperation capability.The best place to solve this problem should be in an educational environment such as college where students begin to write their introductory programs.After constructing a web-based evaluating system,a case was studied in our school of software and some important conclusions were made such as(1)the evaluating results were not so satisfactory because of the absence of necessary training and(2)students' ability to comply with coding standards did not improve automatically with the assignments one by one without timely feedback.In short,there is a long way to run before the students can write quality code meeting the requirement of software industry.  相似文献

English is one of the most important foreign languages taught in universities in China. However, the results are often far from satisfactory. Students in universities often find it hard to express themselves in oral English after many years' study. Language is the most important means of human communication, and communication is the most important function of language. Therefore, the ultimate goal of language instruction is to equip the learners with the ability to use the language for communication. How to help undergraduates to improve their oral English becomes a big challenge for English teachers in China. Aiming to make some contributions to improve undergraduates' oral English, this paper explores some areas of concern which are believed to be the most critical to the success of Oral English Teaching (OET) in China. The first part of this paper discusses some existing factors that constrain OET in China. It followed by exploring some aspects on improving OET for undergraduates in China. Vocabulary is one of the three important parts of any language and it is also the cornerstone of any language.So the vocabulary teaching is very important in language teaching.Because vocabulary is stored in our mind in a semantic network,applying mind map to vocabulary teaching and learning can facilitate the activation of various semantic relations among words in the mind,which greatly promotes the learners’deep processing of vocabulary.Second,words are usually related to one another in the form of cohesions in the context.Constructing mind map of vocabulary in the text can make more noticeable the interrelations among words in the text,which will enhance the participants’language proficiency.The author of the present thesis attempts to prove that mind mapaided vocabulary teaching has a more positiveeffect on enlarging participants’vocabulary,though both approaches to vocabulary teaching have positive influence on participants’vocabu-lary growth.This study reveals that it is rational and feasible to apply mind map and Visual Thesaurus to college English vocabulary teaching and learning.  相似文献
