A High Speed Signal Processing Machine -Its Architecture, Language and Compiler

A systolic array architecture computer (FXCQ) has been designed for signal processing. R can handle floating point data at very high speed. It is composed of 16 processing cells and a cache that are connected linearly and form a ring structure. All processing cells are identical and programmable. Each processing cell has the peak performance of 20 million floating-point operations per second (20MFLOPS). The machine therefore has a peak performance of 320 M FLOPS. It is integrated as an attached processor into a host system through VME bus interface. Programs for FXCQ are written in a high-level language -B language, which is supported by a parallel optimizing compiler. This paper describes the architecture of FXCQ, B language and its compiler.

ENTROPY,INFORMATION,NOISE—STUDIES ON SYSTEM EVOLUTION

Universe, ecosystem, social system, etc. are evolving systems. The evolving processes of thesesystems have gradual small changes and rapid drastic changes with uncertainties under the constraintsof environment. Systems, as a whole, are evolving toward complexity, diversity and variety withfluctuations and jumps. New order emerges from "mutations". The evolution is bothchance-dependent and path-dependent. In this paper three basics: entropy, information and noise areemphasized with regard to system evolution which is a field that can give people wisdom to solvesystem problems with domain knowledge.

Combining forbidden subgraphs with degree restrictions and neighborhood unionrestrictions,respectively,we prove the following results:(1) Let G be a 2-connected graph of order n,and 3≤c≤n.If for each induced subgraphL of order four of G(?)|V_1(L)∩S_c|≥2 if L≌K_(1,3),and |V(L)∩S_c|≥1 if L≌P_4,then thecircumference of G is at least c,where V_1(L)is the set of vertices with degree 1 of L,S_c isthe set of vertices with degree at least c/2 of G and P_4 is a path of order 4.(2) Let G be a 2-connected graph of order n,and n≥s+2.If for each induced subgraphL of G isomorphic to K_(1,3)or P_4,d_L(u,v)=2(?)|N(u)∪N(v)|≥s,then the circumferencec (G) of G is at least s+2.Moreover,if n≥s+3 and s is odd,then c(G)≥s+3.
