Acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activities of muscarine and muscarone derivatives

Zusammenfassung Die Anticholinesterase-Wirkung von synthetischemd,l-Muscarin und weiteren 9 Derivaten wurde an einem hochgereinigten, ausElectrophorus electricus gewonnenen Enzympräparat durch Titration bei konstantem pH ermittelt. Als wirksamster Hemmstoff erwies sich O-Acetyl-d,l-muscarin, das als Substrat ungeeignet ist. Die enzymatischen werden mit den pharmakologischen Befunden verglichen.

Zusammenfassung Centpyraquin (3-(-p-fluorobenzyl propyl) 2,3,4,4a,5,6-hexahydro-1(H)-pyrazino (1,2-a) quinoline hydrochloride) zeigte hypotensive Aktivität bei narkotisierten wie auch bei wachen Katzen. Es senkt auch den Blutdruck bei Ratten mit nephrogenem Hochdurck. Die Hypotension scheint auf einem peripheren Mechanismus zu beruhen.

Summary Comparative labelling of the mouse brain with tritiatedd, l-proline andl-proline reveals a dissimilarity of incorporation between the optical isomers of this amino acid. The differential regional distribution pattern ofd-proline can be correlated to the cerebral distribution of the enzyme activity ofd-aminoacid-oxidase in the mouse brain.

Summary Autoradiographic studies of the mouse brain following incorporation ofd,l-proline-H³ andl-histidine-H³ show a wide variation of the regional uptake ofd,l-proline into the cerebral nerve cells, in contrast tol-histidine. In the cerebral cortex proline is to be found only in the nerve cells of the lamina ganglionaris (V) and lamina multiformis/infima (VI/VII). Subsequent translocation of radioactivity is indicative of an axoplasmic flow of proline-labelled substances into the distal parts of the neuronal processes.

Robertsonian fusion between homologous chromosomes in a natural population of the least cotton rat,Sigmodon minimus (Rodentia,Cricetidae)

Zusammenfassung Die diploide Chromosomenzahl vonSigmodon minimus, einem Nager der Familie der Cricetiden ist 30. Im Karyotyp befindet sich kein grosses metazentrisches Chromosom. Bei Tieren aus einer Population von Silver City, New Mexico, wurden 29 Chromosomen gefunden. Eines davon war relativ gross und metazentrisch. Beim Paaren der Chromosomen in Meiose ist es evident, dass das metazentrische Chromosom das Fusionsprodukt von 2 homologen Chromosomen ist.
