THE ROLE OF TEACHERS IN TEACHING CHINESE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This paper mainly illustrates the important role TCFL teachers play in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the requirement that has been imposed on the teachers to be equipped with a set of professional knowledge structure and skill structure.The characteristics of TCFL determine the special teaching content and teaching methodology of this field,which require the teachers to have special knowledge and unique skills.     

The Teacher's Role and Teaching Procedures in the Teaching of Oral English

English teachers in China are aware that what kind of English teaching method should be employed to improve student＇s linguistic acquisition and that communicative competence becomes more and more important. In English teaching, teachers always make it possible for students to be more often in contacts with the English language, thus creating an atmosphere of learning English language. Help students to jump over the gap between only reading English loudly and speaking English fluently. Here I will show the importance of the teachers＇ role in English teaching and their applies in oral English teaching.     

The Use of Body Language in College

Nowadays,teachers are in great demand to organize the classes in English and create English-learning circumstances.However,with the limitation of students' vocabulary,teachers have to simplify their teaching language with the help of facial expressions and body movements.The possibility and the effect of using body language in teaching English will be further discussed.     

Assessment： Reconsider its Role in Teaching and Learning

Teaching emphasizes what teachers do; learning emphasizes what pupils understand. Assessment emphasizes what pupils can show they know. The purposes for assessment are : diagnosis, evaluation, guidance, grading : selection and prediction. Assessment has two main functions: summative assessment and formative assessment. Formative assessment is used in the development or improvement of educational process. It‘ s the assessment for learning. Summative assessment is used in decision- making at the end of a educational process. It‘s the assessment of learning. Formative assessment enables teachers to gain detailed information on the difficulty for each student. Educational assessment should be best suited for its purpose for guiding the learning and teaching. Formative assessment should be high lightened and needs to be fixed in the teaching and learning process.     

教师教学模糊指标评价体系研究及算法设计

In order to improve the teaching evaluation effect,it is very significant to study the teachers evaluation indicator system and offer the algorithm of the evaluation methods.The teachers evaluation indicator system includes two parts:one part is the solid indicator of the teaching activities,that is,the fixed indicator;the other part is the Soft indicator of the teaching activities,that is,the Fuzzy indicator.The solid indicator contains lessons,hours,achievements,etc;the Fuzzy indicator consists of teachers qualification,teaching methods,student understanding and satisfaction,etc.,which can not be easily measured by fixed values.Fuzzy indicator holds an important position during teaching evaluation.Since there are no better indicator systems and quantified algorithm in higher education institutes these days,we will focus on studying the fuzzy indicator system here.     

The Problems in English Testing System

Testing is a means of enabling quality of teachers’ teaching and acquisition of students’ language learning. Considering the problems existing in the current English education and testing system, teachers should try to improve the validity and reliability of English language testing,which should cover 5 skills: the competence of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation.     

A Comparative Study of Grammar Teaching in the Grammar-Translation, Audio-Lingual and Communicative Approaches

Recent years have seen a resurgence of interest in the role of grammar in English language teaching. Grammar teaching has become a preoccupation among more and more language researchers and teachers. This paper sets out to compare the views of grammar teaching in the Grammar-Translation, Audio-Lingual and Communicative Approaches from the following five points, the status of grammar teaching, the different methods in the instruction of grammar, the teacher’s role in grammar teaching, the characteristics of typical teaching activities in the three approaches with detailed examples and the effect of the three approaches to grammar teaching.It is concluded that grammar teaching should subscribe to an eclectic approach, that is, to take advantage of the strong points of each approach and avoid their weak points. Moreover, grammar teaching should be conducted according to the variables of learners and teaching circumstances.     

How to Improve Communicative Competence of EFL Teacher in the Classroom

The modern teaching principles regard teaching process as the one of teacher-student communication,interaction and development. Some scholars therefore suggest that communication is the essence of teaching. Classroom communication is of great practical significance for education. However,a present empirical study shows that the current situation of teacher-student relations and communication in the EFL classroom is not satisfied enough. The teachers’communicative competence in the classroom needs to be improved. Based on factors that affect the teacher-student communication and the suggestion of the present empirical study,this paper suggests 5 ways to improve the classroom communicative competence of EFL teachers: 1) Teachers need to reconstruct and internalize the notion of modern educational communication; 2) Teachers need to apply appropriate teaching methods and teaching techniques; 3) Teachers need to well harmonize the relations between democracy and authority; 4) Teachers need to equally com-municate with all students and respect them; 5) Teachers need to create a communicative teaching environment. In this way we can facilitate the overall development of students.     

Expectations for English Teachers

In the article, the author consciously compared American educational systems and the students＇ expectation of their teachers with their Chinese equivalents. An investigation about students＇ expectations towards their teachers is done among college freshmen she was teaching. The result is both exciting and worrying. Through careful analysis＇and summary she has made, the author hopes it will arouse concerns of both teachers and students.

实施任务型英语教学应注意的问题

备课是体育教学工作中的重要环节,是搞好教学工作的先决条件.笔者在总结多年教学实践经验的基础上对体育课前的备课方法进行了研究.     

大学生课外使用英语情况的个案调查与分析

我们采用问卷调查的形式，对受试者课外使用英语的情况、不同课外英语活动对英语学习的重要性的情况、高分组受试者与低分组受试者课外使用英语情况、受试者课外使用英语情况与英语成绩的相关关系等方面进行了调查与分析。我们认为，大学英语教学应该将学生课外使用英语这一环节纳入到大学英语教学计划中去，应该以学习者为中心来确立教学内容和教学方法，应该高度重视培养学生的自主学习能力。
