Studies on haemoglobin variants and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in Indian sheep and goats

Résumé Deux variantes d'hémoglobine Hb-A et Hb-B ont été démontrées chez le bouc et le mouton Indiens. Les fréquences génétiques pour Hb-A et Hb-B sont respectivement 0.135 et 0.865.Le fervent déhydrogénase de glucose-6-phosphate chez les érythrocytes de bouc et de mouton est absent. Nous avons employé la méthode semi-quantitative deMoutulsky pour la détermination de l'activité de déhydrogénase de glucose-6-phosphate.     

The influence of ambient temperature on thermoregulatory responses to intraventricularly injected monoamines in sheep,goats and rabbits

Zusammenfassung Zur Erklärung der Effekte auf die Thermoregulation in Schafen, Ziegen und Kaninchen bei verschiedenen Umwelttemperaturen von intraventrikulären Injektionen von Noradrenalin (NA) und 5-Hydroxytryptamin (5-HT) wurde ein einfaches Neuronenmodell vorgeschlagen. Diese Monoamine entfalten nicht in allen Situationen eine reziproke Wirkung. 5-HT führt zu einem Anstieg des Wärmeverlustes und einer Hemmung der Wärmebildung. NA hemmt sowohl Wärmeverlust wie auch Wärmebildung 19.     

A comparative study of the innervation of the choroid plexus in amphibia

The aminergic and cholinergic innervation of choroid plexuses in three species of amphibia was investigated. Plexuses of the Japanese toad and the bullfrog had poor innervation by adrenergic nerves of sympathetic origin, but in the clawed toad, these plexuses were heavily innervated by adrenergic axons from ganglion cells located in the plexus stroma. Nerve fibers positive for acetylcholinesterase were not found in the plexuses, except for a few fibers with very weak enzyme activity in the clawed toad.

A comparative study of tryptophan metabolism in skins and livers of black and albino rats

Summary The skin of black rats contains less tryptophan than the skin of albino rats, possibly because the activity of tryptophan pyrrolase is higher. A comparative study of the intracellular Ca++ movements in white and red muscle

Riassunto Dopo iniezione di⁴⁵Ca⁺⁺ in conigli, radioattività appare nei mitocondri e nel reticolo sarcoplasmico del massetere dell'adduttore magno. La quantità di radioattività, e l'attività specifica del Ca⁺⁺, sono molto più elevate nei mitocondri che nel reticolo sarcoplasmico del massetere. Sono dello stesso ordine di grandezza nei due organelli dell'adduttore magno. I risultati suggeriscono un ruolo prominente dei mitocondri nei movimenti intracellulari del Ca⁺⁺ nel muscolo rosso, ed un analogo prominente ruolo del reticolo sarcoplasmico nel muscolo bianco.     

A comparative study of some anti-inflammatory drugs in wound healing of the rat

Resumen Varias drogas anti-inflamatorias incluyendo una droga antiinflamatoria no esteroidea nueva fueron investigadas en heridas producidas en ratas. AHR-1911 resultó ser la droga menos depresora de la cicatrización de las heridas cuando se comparó con la fenilbutazona y la dexametasona. Un menor contenido de colágeno en las heridas fue observado con el uso de AHR-1911.

L'administration intraventriculaire de doses non-convulsivantes de NaCl provoque chez le chat des modifications dans la fixation particulaire de l'enzyme aux structures corticales.

A comparative study of nuclear proteins in chick embryo cells and their primary and secondary fibrobasts in culture

Zusammenfassung Das elektrophoretische Muster von Histonen und sauren Zellkernproteinen von Hühnerembryonen und deren primären und sekundären Fibroblastzellen wurde qualitativ und quantitativ verglichen. Die Zellkernproteine der verschiedenen Zelltypen erwiesen sich qualitativ als identisch, die relative quantitative Verteilung der Kernproteine war jedoch leicht verschieden.     

Effect of sodium aurothiomalate ‘Myocrisin’ on DNA synthesis in phytohaemagglutinin-stimulated cultures of sheep lymphocytes

Zusammenfassung Das Antirheumatikum Natrium-Aurothiomalat «Myocrisin» hemmt reversibel die durch Phytohaemagglutinin angeregte Synthese von DNS in Kulturen von Lymphozyten des Schafes.
