Free amino acids in blood serum of hedgehogs in deep hypothermia and after spontaneous arousals

Zusammenfassung Die Serumkonzentration von 21 freien Aminosäuren wurde bei Igeln im Winterschlaf, bei spontanem Erwachen während des Winterschlafs und nach dem Aufwachen im Frühling bestimmt. Mit Ausnahme von Valin, Leucin, Isoleucin und Tryptophan sinken die Aminosäuren während des Schlafes signifikant ab und steigen beim Erwachen im Winter und Frühling an.

Effects of biotin deficiency on serum proteins and plasma amino acids

Summary In biotin-deficient rats, a decrease of total proteins, attributable to a decrease of albumin anda ₁-globulin fractions, a decrease of the pre--lipoproteins and an increase of the -lipoproteins, was observed, together with a rise of total amino acids. Such a situation may be related to the influence of biotin on the synthesis of RNA and proteins.     

Correlation of blood and brain amino acids in hypoglycemic and normoglycemic rats

Summary Utilization of gluconeogenic amino acids as a source of energy by brain can occur in starved newborn rats. This capacity is lost later in life as evidenced by changing ratios in blood and brain concentrations between fed and fasted animals.

Zusammenfassung Die Organisatorregion von Hühnchenembryonen wurde mit CAP behandelt und die Wirkung des CAP auf schwefelhaltige Aminosäuren papierchromatographisch untersucht. Die Analyse ergab, dass Glutathion stärker beeinflusst wurde als Methionin. Die Reduktion des Glutathiongehaltes könnte dem Abfall der Induktionskapazität des Hensenschen Knotens entsprechen, der durch die Behandlung mit CAP hervorgerufen wird.     

Concerning amino acids in human saliva

Résumé Dans les travaux de divers laboratoires on peut lire que l'acide-amino-butyrique (GABA) existe dans la salive humaine. Nos récents examens chromatographiques ont mis en évidence que cet acide avait été identifié par erreur et qu'il représente en fait l'acide-amino-valérique (DAVA), un constituant de la salive provenant de l'action bacterienne.     

Paper electrophoresis of soluble proteins of rat liver mitochondria

Riassunto Mediante elettroforesi su carta si dimostra la presenza nei lisati di mitocondri di fegato di ratto di almeno 5 componenti proteici. Le colorazioni specifiche dimostrano la presenza di 3 frazioni lipoproteiche e di altrettante glicoproteiche. I lisati dei mitocondri vennero ottenuti qer trattamento delle particelle con Triton X-100.

Zusammenfassung Auf Grund vorausgegangener Experimente, besonders über degenerierte Triplettcodons, wird ein Verfahren entwickelt, aus dem sich die Austauschmöglichkeiten von Aminosäuren in Eiweißstoffe ergeben, dann nämlich, wenn im Codon nur je eine Base des Tripletts ersetzt wird.     

Paper electrophoresis of soluble proteins from regenerating rat liver

Riassunto Gli autori hanno studiato il comportamento delle proteine e delle glicoproteine solubili del fegato rigenerante di ratto mediante l'elettroforesi su carta. La colorazione con Amidoschwarz mostra che il comportamento elettroforetico delle proteine di fegato rigenerante è praticamente sovrapponibile a quello del fegato normale. La colorazione secondoKöiw eGrönwall dimostra che le glicoproteine diminuiscono nei primi giorni dopo l'atto operatorio, tornando però alla normalità circa 30 giorni dopo l'epatectomia.

Résumé L'auteur a constaté que les acides aminés libres chez les gastéropodes du genreLimnaea, immédiatement après l'éclosion, sont les mêmes que chez les adultes. Il a essayé aussi d'identifier chez des sujets adultes les quatre acides-aminés libres les plus caractéristiques. Deux d'entr'eux sont probablement l'acide glutamique et la sérine.     

Free amino acids inLimnaea II

Résumé De nouvelles recherches ont amené les auteurs à constater l'existence de seulement 2 ou 3 acides aminés dans les ufs de la Limnée (Gastéropode), un jour avant l'éclosion. Ces acides sont très semblables à ceux que l'on trouve chez les jeunes escargots. Dans les produits hydrolytiques des protéines de l'escargot adulte, on constate la présence de 9 acides aminés.

Riassunto Viene descritta la presenza, nel succo dei sarcosomi del muscolo di ratto, di 4 componenti proteici separabili mediante elettroforesi su carta. I 4 componenti sono rappresentati nella misura di rispettivamente 26.1, 18.4, 33.2 e 22.3 per 100 delle proteine totali.

Riassunto Le proteine idrosolubili estratte dal sistema nervoso di ratti sono state separate mediante elettroforesi su carta.Il quadro elettroforetico appare costantemente riproducibile nelle condizioni sperimentali impiegate.     

Plasma branched-chain amino acids in cold-and heat-acclimatised rats

Summary The concentrations of plasma branched-chain amino acids, valine, isoleucine and leucine, were significantly elevated in cold-acclimatised rats, while these values were significantly reduced in heat-acclimatised rats, in both 2-week and 4-week temperature acclimatisation.     

Antimutagenic unusual amino acids from plants

Five unusual amino acids were identified as antimutagens against spontaneous mutation of Salmonella typhimurium TA100: L-azetidine-2-carboxylic acid (1) from Liliaceae plants, alpha-(methylenecyclopropyl)glycine (2) from Litchi chinensis seeds, and 2-amino-4-methylhex-5-ynoic acid (3), hypoglycin A (4), and (2S,4R)-2-amino-4-hydroxyhept-6-ynoic acid (5) from Euphoria longana seeds. The absolute stereochemistry of 5 was determined by its chiral synthesis from L-allylglycine, proving that 5 is the C-4 epimer of the amino acid previously isolated from dried longan seeds.
