Summary Both in normal (control) and in cordotomized (disused) rats, the soleus muscle was denervated either by cutting the sciatic nerve near the trochanter (proximal denervation) or by cutting the soleus nerve near the insertion into the muscle (distal denervation). In the control muscles, the development of fibrillation was not dependent on the level of nerve section. In disused muscles, the development of fibrillation was greater following distal denervation than following the proximal one.  相似文献

The long-term (trophic) influence of perivascular nerves on the endothelium was investigated by measuring changes in thrombin-stimulated release of the potent vasoconstrictor, endothelin, after selective chronic denervation. Rat pups were treated with either guanethidine or capsaicin to destroy sympathetic or sensory nerves, respectively. The abdominal aortas from the rats at three months of age (5 pooled per experiment) were incubated with 4U thrombin/ml in medium for 24 h at 37°C, and the amount of endothelin released from the preparation determined by immunoassay. After neonatal sensory denervation there was a significant reduction in the thrombinstimulated release of endothelin compared to the controls (0.012±0.012 (4) compared to 0.063±0.012 (6), pmol/cm2/24 h, p<0.02). There was no change in endothelin release after sympathetic denervation. In summary, sensory nerves play a trophic role in the expression of endothelin in endothelial cells of the intima.  相似文献

Summary The membran potential of isolated rat-diaphragms has been measured by means of intracellular micro-electrodes, in order to study changes of the resting potential and of the depolarizing action of acetylcholine after section of the phrenic nerve. Within 80 days after denervation, the membrane potential was found to fall exponentially from 87 mV to 66 mV. The action of acetylcholine, on the other hand, was found to be independent of the duration of denervation: between the 4th and the 80th day of denervation: 10–5g/ml acetylcholine always caused the membrane potential to fall by an average of the 9 mV.  相似文献

The implantation of one or two pairs of corpora allata of diapausing females in another diapausing females (two weeks old) induces vitellogenesis and laying of one, two or three egg-pods in a great number of females. The denervation of the corpora-allata of a diapausing female also induced vitellogenesis. These results suggeste that corpora-allata of diapausing females are not active. The denervation induces the break of the inhibition "travelling" by the corpora-allata-cardiaca nerves or stimulates the corpora-allata.  相似文献

Summary Left ventricular cell hypertrophy in dogs with aortic stenosis was accelerated by surgical denervation of the left ventricle. Cerebrovascular reactivity to CO2 (CO2R), measured in halothane-anesthetized rabbits, decreased as arterial pressure was increased either pharmacologically or mechanically. On the other hand, hypotension, induced by bleeding, led to an increase in CO2R. These responses were unaffected by denervation of baroreceptors.  相似文献

Summary Reflex autonomic changes which occur after cigarette smoke enters the upper airways are partially due to peripheral chemoreceptor stimulation. Chemoreceptor denervation attenuates but does not abolish smoke induced bradycardia. Denervation nearly abolishes bradycardia induced by tracheal occlusion. Summary In normotensive and genetically hypertensive Wistar rats, chronic renal denervation reduces renal cortical levels of noradrenaline and dopamine by more than 90%. Four main molecular forms of acetylcholinesterase (AChE), with sedimentation coefficients of 5, 7.5, 11.5 and 20 S, are found in Chicken ciliary ganglion. After denervation, the loss in 11.5 and 20 S forms occuring in 48 hrs coincides with the disappearance of presynaptic structures. In contrast, axotomy induces an early and durable increase in 7.5 S form. From these results, it is inferred that 11.5 and 20 S forms are predominant in presynaptic structures and 7.5 S form is mainly postsynaptic. In addition, the effects observed after simultaneous denervation and axotomy show a reciprocal control between pre- and postsynaptic elements. Finally, a trans-synaptic effect is exerted on 20 S AChE in controlateral ganglion after preganglionic sections.  相似文献

Summary Hypertension was produced in anesthetized and conscious dogs when cerebral perfusion was reduced. It lasted up to 19 days in chronic studies, was not abolished by carotid sinus denervation nor with beta receptor blockade, but was absent after removal of brachiocephalic artery constriction (BCAC). Summary Type I and type II muscle fibers from rat extensor digitorum longus muscle were sequentially followed in serial sections after various time intervals following denervation.
