Based on the influence of different relationship between general ideology and authorial ideology on Hemingway＇s works in the second period of his creation, the thesis aims to study the different reflection of his political interest from the perspective of ideology.

Emest Hermngway is famous for his ＂masculinity＂ style in his writing. Meanwhile, he also describes female characters and their strengths and reveals his own sensitivity to gender issues. His early exposure to women is from his upbringing dominatrix. His failure on marriage plays an important role on his works. In his mind, women are the combination of angel and evil. They act elegantly and attract men＇s heart, but sometimes they are changeable. Catherine Barkley is a typical angel except her suspect. Catherine Bourne is an evil though she is charming. Brett Ashley is attractive, but she can＇t love whom she loves. That is a society without choice. Women＇s feelings attach to men. They show their right to love, to change. Even to escape the cruel reality. At the same time they know they can＇ t cast the society. Hemingway pays more attention on women＇s feelings in his writing. On the one hand, he respects women＇s elegance, beauty and view on love. He wants to get love and care from them. On the other hand, he holds in awe on women. He assumes women are changeable, and is afraid of being hurt. Hemingway＇ s mind is full of conflicts, and his love, hatred, sympathy belong to not merely male, but also female. No matter she is angel or evil, he can＇t help himself and his readers falling in love with these women of extraordinary beauty.

＂Soldier＇s Home,＂ Hemingway employs a third person narrator which narrates the short story in a seemingly detached and indifferent narrative voice. However,further exploration of the narrator and narrative voice in the story demonstrates that,instead of being thoroughly detached,the narrator constantly penetrates into the protagonist＇s consciousness,merges with character＇s voice,and even betrays Hemingway＇s sympathies with his protagonist. This paper attempts to explore narrator and narrative voice used in this story which contribute a lot to the alienation theme of the story as well as the successful depiction and characterization of a young soldier who finds himself desperate,disillusioned and alienated after returning home from the First World.War.     

Development in the research of molecular mechanism of Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a kind of central nervous system disease. The cause of AD is unclear. It is found that the remarkable histopathological characters of AD are senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. β-amyloid plays an important role in the formation of senile plaques and the abnormal phosphorylation of Tau protein is the main reason of neurofibrillary tangles. Apolipoprotein E is correlated to AD' s access, and the third pathological character-AMY plaque perhaps represents a new cause of AD. Presenlin and proteinaceous infectious particles are also related with AD. A summary of molecular mechanism for AD and the development of research is presented.     

Characteristics of carbon storage in Shanghai’s urban forest

Urban forest has undergone rapid development in China over the last three decades because of the acceleration of urbanization.Urban forest thus plays an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration at a regional and national scale.As one of the most urbanized cities in China,Shanghai showed an increase of forest coverage from 3% in the 1990s to 13% in 2009.Based on CITY-green model and the second soil survey of Shanghai,the forest biomass carbon(FBC) was estimated to be 0.48 Tg in the urban area and,forest soil organic carbon(SOC)(0-100 cm soil depth) is 2.48 Tg in the urban and suburban areas,respectively.These values are relatively within the median and lower level compared with other Chinese megacities,with the FBC of 0.02 Tg in Harbin to 47.29 Tg in Chongqing and the forest SOC of 1.74 Tg in Nanjing to 418.67 Tg in Chongqing.For the different land-use types in Shanghai,the SOC density ranges from 13.8(tidal field) to 38.6 t ha-1(agricultural land).On average,the forest SOC density(31.5 t ha-1) in Shanghai is lower than that in agricultural lands(38.6 t ha-1) and higher than that in lawns(26.5 t ha-1) and gardens(21.3 t ha-1).In Shanghai,the SOC density in newly established urban parks is generally lower than that in older parks.In the northern and southeastern suburban areas(e.g.,Baoshan,Yangpu,and Nanhui districts),greenspace SOC density is higher than that in the central commercial areas(Hongkou,Putuo,Changning,and Zhabei districts) and in newly developed district(Pudong District).Uncertainties still exist in the estimation of urban forest carbon in Shanghai,as well as in other Chinese cities.Thus,future research directions are also discussed in this paper.
