Phtalocyanine in wässriger Lösung. Zum Mechanismus der Metallkomplexbildung

Summary The mechanism of incorporation of different mental ions into phthalocyaninetetrasulfonic acid in aqueous solution has been investigated. It was found that the rate of the reacion with Cu²⁺ depends on the dissociation rate of the N-H-bond of this porphyrin-like chelating agent, whereas the reaction rate with other metal ions, like Zn²⁺, does not.

Zusammenfassung Artemia salina vom Mono-See, Kalifornien, U.S.A., enhält Cholesterin und Cholestanol als ihr hauptsächlichstes Sterin. Diese Zusammensetzung ist ähnlich wie die jenige von im Laboratorium erzeugten Salz-Krabben und zwar trotzdem das Wasser des Mono-Sees ein pH von 9.6 und einen Salzgehalt von 2.23M hat¹⁶.

Interaction oft alleles at theT locus in the house mouse

Zusammenfassung Mehrfach wurde gezeigt, dass zwei rezessive letale Allele in der Hausmaus (t ^o undt ¹) lebensfähige normale Tiere in heterozygoter Kombinationt ⁰/t ¹ produzieren. Neuere Daten machen wahrscheinlich, dass dast ¹-Allel mutativ abänderte, so dass sowohl seine homozygote Wirkung als auch die Zusammenwirkung mitt ⁰ beeinflusst worden ist. Hingegen sind Kombinationen vont ⁰ und dem neuen Allel nicht mehr lebensfähig, und Homozygote sterben erst nach der Implantation.

Nach⁹⁰Sr--Strahlung wird angenommen, dass Cerenkov-Effekt- und induzierte Fluoreszenz-Lichterzeugung die-ERG-Reaktion deutlich beeinflussen.

Über Struktur und Aktivität der den H2O2-Zerfall katalysierenden Cu2+-Komplexe. — VI. Differenzierung von nativer RNS und nativer DNS bzw. denaturierter DNS auf Grund der katalytischen Eigenschaften

Summary The catalysis of H₂O₂ decomposition by Cu²⁺-complexes of RNA and DNA has been investigated. It is shown that both complexes decompose H₂O₂, but only the Cu²⁺-RNA-system shows peroxidative activity too, e.g. only in this case the nucleotide bases are degraded. Thermal denaturation of DNA also leads to a Cu²⁺-complex with peroxidative activity, the latter being dependent on the degree of denaturation.

Metabolism of carbazole

Zusammenfassung Es wurde mit Hilfe der Papier- und Dünnschichtchromatographie und der Isotopen-Verdünnungstechnik des C¹⁴-markierten Materials gezeigt, dass diein vivo-Hydroxylierung von Carbazol sowohl im Ratten- als auch im Kaninchenorganismus am Ort der höchsten Elektronenstauung stattfindet und zur Bildung von 3-Hydroxycarbazol führt.

Studies on the regional biosynthesis and metabolism of catecholamines in the central nervous system of the monkey

Zusammenfassung Nach intraventrikulärer Verabreichung von Tyrosin-C¹⁴ oder Dopamin-H³ wurden die Biosynthese und der Stoffwechsel des Katecholamins in verschiedenen Regionen des ZNS bei Affen (Cercopithecus sabaeus) untersucht. Die grössten Katecholaminmengen wurden aus Tyrosin-C¹⁴ im Nucleus caudatus gebildet. Ebenso ist dort, wie im Putamen, die Tyrosin-Hydroxylase-Aktivität am grössten. Die Bildung des Noradrenalins aus Dopamin konnte im Hypothalamus, Hirnstamm, sowie im Nucleus caudatus nachgewiesen werden. Die Verteilung des radioaktiven Dopamins entspricht nicht in allen Hirnregionen der Verteilung des endogenen Dopamins.

Komplex-Stabilität und tuberkulostatische Aktivität einiger 8-Oxychinolinderivate

Summary Based on polarographic viz. spectrophotometric determinations of the stabilities of several Cu⁺⁺- and Co⁺⁺⁺ hydroxyquinolin complexes it has been shown that a correlation exists between the quotient of complex-stabilitiesK _Co ⁺⁺⁺ /K _Cu ⁺⁺ and antitubercular activity (cf. table and graph). This supports the hypothesis that the 8-hydroxyquinolin derivatives and analogues act by competitive antagonism; the Cu⁺⁺-hydroxy-quinolates are able to replace Co in a prosthetic group of Mycobacterium-enzyme with Cu.

Cytogenetic changes induced by 1-(N1-methylhydrazinomethyl)-N-isopropyl benzamide in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells

Zusammenfassung Trägermäuse von Ehrlich-Ascites-Tumoren zeigen nach Behandlung mit 1-(N¹-Methylhydrazinomethyl)-N-Isopropyl-Benzamid (MIH) eine sofortige Zellteilungshemmung. Diese lässt sich nach s.c. MIH-Injektion von 200 mg/kg bis auf 72 h ausdehnen. Der MIH-Behandlung widerstehende Zellen (nach 5 Tagen) waren durch 2 neue metazentrische Chromosomen ausgezeichnet.
