Charge transport in organic semiconductors: From incoherent to coherent

Quantum decoherence in organic charge transport is a complicated but crucial topic. In this paper, several theoretical approaches corresponding to it, from incoherent to coherent, are comprehensively reviewed. We mainly focus on the physical insight provided by each theory and extent of its validity. The aim of this review is to clarify some contentious issues and elaborate on the promising perspectives provided by different approaches. The device model approaches based on both continuous and discretized treatments of the transporting layer will be first discussed. The prominent focus of this review will be devoted to the dynamic disorder model and its variants considering that it is the most promising approach to tackle charge transport problems in organic materials. We will also address other theories such as the variational method.

This paper is devoted to the discussion of Joseph Conrad's novel,Lord Jim,based on Jungian psychological theory of the collective conscious and archetype and views the hero's Jim's journey from sea to forest as a metaphor of inner quest.The archetypal approach to this novel will help illuminate the "Jim-myth" as a microcosmic window to the macrocosmic view of modern man's isolation and introspection in search of individual identity.     

A Miniature Large Displacement Linear Nanopositioning Piezoelectric Actuator

A miniature linear piezoelectric actuator which moves based on inertia- friction theory is described in this paper. The authors discuss its driving principle, dynamic model and experimental results. The piezoelectric actuator includes two piezoelectric elements. Through the sequentially deformations of the two piezo elements, the moving mass slides a miniature displacement. Many strokes will be added to be a large displacement. This type of piezoactuator has advantages in its dimension and motion type, so it can be miniaturized to do micro-manipulation or micropositioning in microspace.     

SYNTHESIS AND PURIFICATION OF N,N''''-E1S(P-CARBOMETHOXYBENZOYL)BUTANEDIAMINE(T4T-DIMETHYL)

T4T-dimethyl is commonly employed as hard segment when polyesteramide is produced. Polyesteramide is one of thermoplastic elastomers, like polyurethane which is composed of two different types of segments, usually referred to as soft and hard segments. The characters of hard segment have much influence on the properties of the polymer. To get the polyesteramide with high order, it is desirable to make T4T-dimethyl pure. In this paper, how to synthesize, to purify as well as to detect the purity of T4T-dimethyl are described in detail.

The Elegy of Women: An Comparative Analysis of Laura and Blanche

The paper attempts to analyze the two main women characters in Tennessee Williams’ two plays The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire.Laura in The Glass Menagerie and Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire represent the delicate and fragile southern female images.They stand as the images of Williams’central theme: the destructive impact of society on the sensitive female.     

A Study on the Characterization of Jude the Obscure

This paper is a brief study on the characterization of Jude the Obscure, and will be focus on the chief character Jude Fawley. This novel, first published in 1895, wasThomas Hardy's last and best literary success. There are six main characters in this novel: Jude Fawley, Susanna Bridehead, Arabella Donn, Richard Phillotson, Aunt Drusilla, Little Father Time (Little Jude). This analysis of the distinct depictions of the typical characters will be helpful to the understanding of the gap between the ideal life a man wishes to lead and the squalid existence he is fated to live in such social environment as Jude is confronted with.     

The Effects of Sin in The Scarlet Letter

"Sin" plays a very important role in the understanding of Hawthorne's "psychological romance"— The Scarlet Letter.The paper introduces the major view that influences him--the Puritan doctrine of "original sin" so as to investigate Hawthorne's own attitudes towards the sin and the effects of sin on the two main characters in the novel.     

Cost of Multicast Logical Key Tree Based on Hierarchical Data Processing

How to design a multicast key management system with high performance is a hot issue now. This paper will apply the idea of hierarchical data processing to construct a common analytic model based on directed logical key tree and supply two important metrics to this problem： re-keying cost and key storage cost. The paper gives the basic theory to the hierarchical data processing and the analyzing model to multieast key management based on logical key tree. It has been proved that the 4-ray tree has the best performance in using these metrics. The key management problem is also investigated based on user probability model, and gives two evaluating parameters to re-keying and key storage cost.     

ORDERED-OBJECT-ORIENTED METHOD:A NEW APPROACH OF SAMPLE PART CALCULATION AND DESIGN

This paper proposed a new approach of sample part classification and design, a so called Or-dered-object-oriented method (O-O-O method). Based on the theory of neural networks, fuzzy clustering algorithm and adaptive pattern recognition, O-O-O method can be used to classify and design the sample parts automatically. The basic theory, the main step as well as the characteristics of the method are analysed. The construction of the ordered object in application is also presented in this paper.

The passage mainly shows Wilde＇s aestheticism thought of the novel in three aspects.     

Potentials for Radio Frequency Identification in AEC/FM

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has proved to be very effective in industries as diverse as aircraft manufacturing to health and care. The construction industry has been slow to take up on RFID and this paper will discuss the merits of the technology in its potential for application within the construction sector. The paper reports about the prototypical implementation of RFID-based information management in FM-scenarios. The prototypes were tested at University College Cork (UCC). The general applicability of RFID for decentralised information management could be demonstrated.

A fast edge detection method basing on the combination of fuzzy subsets is developed, in which the detection of an edge as a classification problem will be considered, partitioning the image into two portions: the edge portion and the non-edge portion. The latter one, as the main constituent of an image, consists of the object and its background. Removing the non-edge portion from an image, the remainder is nothing but the edge of this image. As far as the fuzziness of the edge of an image is concerned, some fuzzy operations can be made. In this paper, the gray level histogram is partitioned into several sub-regions, and some operations are performed with the associated fuzzy subsets corresponding to those sub-edges in the sub-regions on the gray-level-square-difference histogrmn, and the edge of this image is finally obtained. Practical examples in this paper illustrate that, the described method is simple and effective to achieve an ideal edge image.     

Relevance Theory in Translation

In perspective of relevance theory,translation is regarded as communication. According to relevance theory,communication not only requires encoding,transfer and decoding processes,but also involves inference in addition. As communication,translation decision-making is also based on the human beings’ inferential mental faculty. Concentrating on relevance theory,this paper tries to analyze and explain some translation phenomena in two English versions of Cai Gen Tan——My Crude Philosophy of Life.

The communicative approach as a relatively new one has not been widely accepted and used in some Chinese schools.Based on the advantages and disadvantages of this approach,I propose to apply it to speaking course.In this paper,the communicative approach and its application in my teaching context will be discussed critically.     

the Dispute over Domestication and Foreignization in China

Foreignization and domestication as two major translation techniques have long been the focus of the debate in translation circles. The paper reviews the history of the dispute by introducing some essays on domestication and foreignization published in key translation jour- nals in China. The ultimate aim of this dissertation is to propose that domestication and foreignization co-exist and a good translation contains both strategies. So it is unnecessary to argue which one is better. As the number of the example in this paper is limited, its credibility needs further investigation and research.     

Global analysis theory of climate system and its applications

The idea and main theoretical results of the global analysis theory of climate system are briefly summarized in this paper. A theorem on the global behavior of climate system is given, i.e. there exists a global attractor in the dynamical equations of climate, any state of climate system will be evolved into the global attractor as time increases,indicating the nonlinear adjustment process of climate system to external forcing. The different effects of external forcing, dissipation and nonlinearity on the long-term behavior of solutions are pointed out, and some main applications of the global analysis theory are also introduced. Especially, three applications, the adjustment and evolution processes of climate, the principle of numerical model design and the optimally numerical integration, are discussed.     

The rise of granular computing

This paper has two purposes. One is to present a critical examination of the rise of granular computing and the other is to suggest a triarchic theory of granular computing. By examining the reasons, justifications, and motivations for the rise of granular computing, we may be able to fully appreciate its scope, goal and potential values. The results enable us to formulate a triarchic theory in the light of research results from many disciplines. The three components of the theory are labeled as the philosophy, the methodology, and the computation. The integration of the three offers a unified view of granular computing as a way of structured thinking, a method of structured problem solving, and a paradigm of structured information processing, focusing on hierarchical granular structures. The triarchic theory is an important effort in synthesizing the various theories and models of granular computing.

The software industry is asking universities and colleges to cultivate more software engineers who can write quality programs.A peer code review process is an ideal approach to maximize the learning outcome of students in programming.In this paper,the process in our previous publication was improved.The found problems were analyzed which will take as the basis of the future research on quality assurance.Finally,a set of solutions based on computer science were proposed to further improve the whole review process.     

Reflections on Equivalence in Translation

The comparison of texts in different languages inevitably involves a theory of equivalence.To shed as much as possible light on theories and writings that have dealt with the notion of equivalence,this essay attempts to present a few in-depth reflections on translation equivalence through reviewing the theory of equivalence as interpreted by some of the most innovative theorists in this field,as well as some first-hand data from my teaching experience.
